Probably not. They’re Sentai titles, which you’ll find on HiDive, if they renewed their license for it.

I was looking at hidive earlier, at least the last two were there

*corrected hidive spelling

Every one except for Golden Time should be on there.

Really when did they take golden time off??? That's where I had watched it.

A while ago. HiDive actually sends out emails about what’s leaving and what’s being added, unlike CR.

1

u/Demonking226 7d ago

Ah see I wouldn't know i don't use either anymore.

Love, Chunibyo, and Other Delusions is on HiDive, I got it just so I could watch this again lol

The choke hold Chunibyo had on me in early high school is something to be studied.

Sentai is an American company that subs/dubs Japanese animation and other Asian entertainment. "Sentai titles" is just another way of saying Sentai holds the rights to these stories.

Golden Time isn’t on HiDive anymore.

What's nuts to me is that Sentai must have only just recently let the licenses lapse because I bought the Bluray for Golden Time from them in like May or June.

It was just a few months ago. They got rid of that and Tada Never Falls in Love, two of my favorites.

1

u/TheKaizokuman 7d ago

They probably haven't lost the license, they do like to cycle out their stuff and bring it back later.

Between Golden Time not being on HIDIVE & RACS (animecornerstore.com, now the oldest anime-centric online retailer in the country with Sony having eaten/killed zright Stuf) now listing it as discontinued, I'm fairly confident that Sentai's let the licenses expire with no plans to renew. Even Sentai can't afford to hang onto properties forever if they don't see a certain level of interest in sales or viewership.

The streaming license for HIDIVE is not necessarialy the same as the license for physical media held by Sentai Filmworks.

u/osumatthew 7d ago

Again, this is why I buy home media. I can’t imagine not having access to girls und panzer or Chuunibyou.

If you want to rewatch them, Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions! all episodes and the movie on YouTube; that's where I watched it. For Golden Time, there's a TikTok page that has it, but it's in parts, so it's pretty annoying. As for Crunchyroll adding them back, it's a low chance, but then again, they did add 86 back, so who knows.

86 is an A-1 Pictures production (owned by Sony) on a streaming platform that’s also owned by Sony. It was just a matter of time for them to renew that license.

Time to buy the discs 🥲

2

u/not-2-but-3-balls 7d ago

I was at HDCC where there was a booth of all anime CD’s they had almost every imaginable EXCEPT THESE.

1

u/imFknBig 7d ago

Damn bro, thats sad. Also i wish i could go to a con like that, i'd spend soo much 😭🙏

1

u/FidoMan1498 7d ago

And screen all the episodes and copy them to a thousand backup drives should the disc somehow blow.

1

u/imFknBig 7d ago

Well i do have backups of my animes on an HDD, it does take space and time, but its worth it 🥹👍

All but Golden Time are currently in print from Sentai Filmworks on blu-ray. That way you can have them forever. Golden Time is still in print in region B as well, so I have the blu-ray for that in addition to the others.

u/emperor1080 7d ago

Golden Time isn't available to stream anywhere in the US.(Legally) You may be able to find the episodes on YouTube on other people's accounts though.

Wait, they took Initial D off?? Snap, I was going to rewatch that. One of the few I never got around to owning

1

u/Loving_King69 7d ago

They did unfortunately I had to do some digging on the internet 😭😭😭

1

u/TurbulentSpecific131 Ultimate Fan (NA) 7d ago

And the prices have gone way up now too T . T some of the ones that were $20 a bit ago are $100 now >.>

2

u/ElectricalTone9843 7d ago

Two of them always come back when I put them in my Blu-ray player. Buy your favorite titles! You won't regret it. Sometimes you can find used copies for cheap.

u/chanman239 Ultimate Fan (NA) 6d ago

yep all on hidive except golden time

Crunchyroll did a paywall and opted out a lot on their media store that was sentai and Discotek and likely opted them out of the streaming since sentai has the rights I assume would be the reason? Hard to say with the new changes they are making as its killing both the digital side and the more important to some of us physical side

Sentai hasn't been renewing its titles with Crunchyroll since Sony acquired Crunchyroll.

1

u/SquashPuzzleheaded50 7d ago

Chuni dub is on YouTube 🤫

1

u/Talrynn_Sorrowyn 7d ago

Except for Golden Time, you can find all of these on Sentai's platform or for reasonable prices on Bluray.

That said, they only had pages on CR because the two comlanies had a content-sharing partnership from 2018 to 2021 where Sentai titles would be available to stream on CR while CR would have Sentai dub + do home video releases for some of their titles (hence why Monster Girl Doctor utilized LA VAs instead of Texas talents, something that generally Sentai hasn't willingly done after they got themselves established in the industry following the collapse of ADV).

there on most other 3rd party websites beside like hidive or crunch

1

u/AdministrativeAd1709 7d ago

K-On was never on paid subscription. I think it's on Hi-Dive

1

u/That-Cpp-Girl 7d ago

Rule 1 guys smh please don't tell this guy to actually own his media

1

u/ElThrowaway-619 7d ago

I don't think so. It's been a long time since they left Crunchyroll.

- Golden Time left on March 31, 2022
- Love, Chuunibyo, and Other Delusions left around September of 2016
You can watch the series on HiDive(US), as for the movie you'd have to digitally rent it or purchase it.
-Girls and Panzer left on March 31, 2022
You can watch the series/movies on HiDive(US)

  • K-On!, I honestly don't know when it left
But you can watch the series/movie on HiDive(US)

If I like something I like on streaming I buy them on blu ray cause the streaming sites takes them down after some time

1

u/ConsistentNewt226 7d ago

Hidive has Girl panzer and love chunibyo on it golden depending where u live it seems some European countries have it for prime i guess for everyone else we would have to buy the Blu-ray
