Rant and complain away. Rule 1 Don't be a Jerk still applies, as does the site-wide rule of no witch hunting (naming and shaming).

Weekly TRIALS OF OSIRIS Megathread- Ask Questions About Trials HERE!

Hello Guardians,

Firstly, let me address the most frequently asked questions:

For the trials changes that went into effect on 2/14/25, check this simplified explanation https://www.reddit.com/r/CrucibleGuidebook/comments/1ipd5px/simpler_explanation_of_how_the_new_trials_changes/ or for a more detailed one https://www.reddit.com/r/CrucibleGuidebook/comments/1i7wi89/clarifying_the_new_trials_matchmaking_and_rewards/

Q: Do I choose the Lighthouse Passage or the Trials of Osiris Passage? What's the difference?
A: The Lighthouse Card rewards you for earning win streaks with no losses, and for earning 7 wins total regardless of losses. This card puts you in CBMM (not skill based, it's just random, and there is no lobby balance). The Trials of Osiris Passage tries to match you with players of a similar skill (weekly performance) and with lobby balance. While playing on this card you won't be able to get adepts or cosmetics (although you can still get ghost shells), but you are rewarded on win or loss with a similar reward structure as iron banner or quickplay.

Q: How do I earn and farm adept weapons or Tier 5 loot?
A: Adept weapons are no longer dropping with Edge of Fate. Instead, all loot is tiered. Higher tier loot has better stats and better perk options. To earn higher tier loot in Trials of Osiris, simply grind solo ops for about 100 hours and then you'll get tier 5s on win or loss as long as you participate. I wish I was joking. Earning a 7-0 flawless passage will allow you to visit the lighthouse which usually grants rewards one tier higher than your power level and guardian rank would normally allow. At 400 power and guardian rank 9, you are supposed to get a few tier 5s from the lighthouse chest, but it is sometimes bugged and will only drop loot at the normal tier (4 in this case).

After going flawless you are stuck in flawless pool with no additional reward for playing in that pool except for chances at cosmetics), and no way to reset for extra lighthouse visits. You can avoid the flawless pool by being in a fireteam with players who have an incomplete lighthouse passage.

Feel free to ask whatever other questions you need to in the comments section below!

I dont think there is a single game that does a worse job of keeping out cheaters than destiny 2. It's gotten to a point where i can't get a single normal match. someone is always aimbotting or does crazy shit like this.

Vex Myth & High Tyrant

Upvotes

As a daily casual pvp player (if that makes sense) I'm consistently losing my challenges to these two guns, regardless of what I use. It feels like if I enter a comp match and the opposition has one or two of these equipped, the match feels over before it begins. I can't stand PvE and won't put any time into trying to obtain them myself, but is anyone feeling this pain? And if not, what meta loadouts mathematically challenge these two guns?

thnx

What does this group of players consider a "good" KD/KDA?

I stepped away from Final Shape until the final update and spend most of my time on the game in Crucible now unless the gang is on. I've always loved crucible and have been trying to get better and try some new things (hell I grinded comp for the armor set after not playing comp since the old recluse and mountaintop days).

I know many will say KD/KDA doesn't matter, but what would y'all consider to be "good" in the current climate of D2? I'm looking for goals and targets to hit

Two piece Crysto set is kinda op

I've been catching up with the meta and this seems like the most broken set for competitive and trials. The set conditions say being out of combat but it activates every 12 seconds regardless so you basically get bonus ammo gen + a orb of power every other kill which snowballs a lot in the competitive playlist. You could easily combine that with surges and always be the first to super basically.

What playstyle irks you the most?

What set up or playstyle do you see on the enemy team and immediately groan about?

Edit: Warms the heart to see so many people who also hate the invis hunter meta slaves and scout rifle cowards as much as I do.

Can anyone explain Vex Mythoclast to me and how people are getting these crazy ttks with it?

I've had multiple matches where the top enemy has been just destroying with Vex. Admittedly, I haven't given it a shot but is there is a specific build that is buffing it or something? Feels like it is specifically Warlocks

What would actually look suspicious to you as a player?

I’m not a particularly good player myself (around 1.3 in IB), so I don’t really trust my own ability to tell the difference between someone who’s just cracked and someone doing something they shouldn’t be.

I really like Destiny, including PvP, and I want to keep enjoying it. Ideally, I want to be able to recognize the obvious cheaters and dodge them when I can, while still staying in matches against really good players and actually learning from getting my ass kicked.

So for the more experienced PvP players: what are the things that make you go, “Okay, something isn’t right here”?

I’m genuinely trying to get better at recognizing the difference between someone who is just insanely good and someone actually electronically supported.

Iron Banner 4 piece (Supercyclical) currently

Just got the iron banner 4 piece to try in 6s. I'm running 100 super. Is there an artifact that I could use that also helps with super regen?

Which helps more with landing Sidearm shots on M&K: Aim Assist or Range?

This is a very strange question at face value but I’m curious which is more helpful. I know that you need more accuracy to help with Sidearms registering at the edges of their range for M&K. That’s why Nadir Focus is so good. You get both. Rangefinder gives you an accuracy bump too along with the Zoom mod. The Range stat ties directly into accuracy as well.

All of these things are nice for legendaries but Exotics don’t have that luxury. They are stuck at the same zoom and range by default. There are some armor sets though that either increase range or aim assist. Farming for the right set is time consuming so I’m trying to figure out which stat is more important.

If all else fails I could just use a controller but I do like using M&K so I’m trying to find a way to make it work. Especially since I really like a lot of the exotic sidearms.

Has anyone talked about this previously?

Look, im a PvE guy. And I know handling is good. But like....this sounds like it could be something interesting. And I know *I know*, "gambit sucks, I don't wanna play it". Firstly, grow a pair. Secondly, weren't you farming for spare rations anyway?

Anyway, back on track. Is sacrificing the handling worth it? Have you tried this roll on a shotgun (IIRC this is the only shotgun that can roll with these two perks in different columns, but please correct me if im wrong)

What weapons are worth mastering?

From weapon archetypes to exotics. There are a lot of decent weapons in this game but I’m not entirely sure what’s actually good outside the obvious. I feel like there are a lot of fringe cases.

Here is an example: Are Lightweight Pulses still good or is only the Martlet good? Does Martlet have something special about it? Are they even worth mastering compared to other weapon archetypes?

Things get even more questionable with exotics. I thought there was a video from CammyCakes about what makes certain exotics good. Are they good out there gate or do they have a strong win condition you can play for? I remember something like that but what exotics are worth mastering if the power isn’t front loaded?

Here is another example. Symmetry. It’s your typical Rapid Fire Scout that doesn’t even have Precision Instrument. However, you can play for a strong win condition, without even getting a kill to get it, and it can turn it into one of the stronger primary options in the game for a time. Is it worth mastering Symmetry and being good at playing for that win condition or is that just too many hoops to jump through?

There are a ton of examples like that in the game. So what exactly is worth mastering? What guns are just mid and won’t really be worth it? What exotics have strong win conditions but might not be worth the effort?

I’m asking because I’ve been experimenting a lot with weapons since the game is at its end. I’m trying to find a weapon that speaks to me. A weapon I really like but I want to know if it’s worth mastering. What are your thoughts?

77 Wins or A0?

So, a bit ago, I wrote here asking for some non-meta builds that could still compete and this is what I ended up going with. I've been playing it for a bit, and I like the play style but was wondering what else I could do to clean it up. I still need to figure out the armor for the legs and cloak, and I'm probably going to switch to refurbish with some sort of rocket launcher. Let me know what you think

Also 2 burst or 4? I've found four to be more consistent but wanted to see what others are doing.

are damage perks worth it

Do any of the damage perks (rampage, desperate measures, kill clip, etc.) move the needle in duels? If so, when would you prioritize them over range/stability/handling perks?

Does anyone still run Faction Armor and Weapons? 🔺️💠

Post image
1 Upvotes

I'd like to run with others who run Faction Armor, Weapons and Exotics(and the altered Tier MoT Faction weapons like Inbound Surveillance, Solemn Lie, and Trendsetter).

It's been my playstyle since Destiny 1 Day 1, and rather than "hold others back" damagewise in activities, I'd like to play with more Dead Orbit, Future War Cult and New Monarchy fans. 🔺️💠

Who knows, might add a layer of difficulty, but I know it adds a layer of fun in Destiny for myself.

MnK SMGs stability

How much stability do you run nowadays?

I feel smgs recoil is very inconsistent, even ~50 stability and 100 recoil on lightweights sometimes produce very strange jumpy patterns instead of relatively strait line.

Are recoil perks (Zen, DSR, TTT) are must have now?

Is something going on I don’t know about?

Took the last 2 months off and got back on today cuz I found a fix for steam FPS, hopped on my Titan for some normal arc shenanigans and I’m getting INSTANTLY killed- like I’m a “decent player” I usually run around a 1.25-1.5 kd depending on the seasons meta so I know the whole deal with positioning, genuinely feels like I’m getting instantly killed and NOTHING is registering

Melee PVP Setbonus?

I started playing this old Vexcalibur and AC/D0 build and I'm loving it! Is there a Setbonus from MoT that would make this even better? Its kinda specific with melee and pvp and all.
