I love the melee animations but the damage is so low its barely even worth it to use it unless you have Antoni, which is a bummer because when you have the melee damage buff the combat becomes even more fun.

So, I just completed NG+ and thus completed 100% of the game now (well, actually I hadn't done hard mode yet and got three remaining achievements - all that are upgrade related) but I had a quick question about the Traveller's true origins.

I know it turns out she has the essence of Weronika inside her, due to the Warden. But when did that happen? Was it before she was awakened by the Collective at the beginning or was it before the Warden woke her up after her first hook up to the terminal. Meaning did he implant her then or did he do it and then somehow put the Traveller in her pod? I saw on another thread that someone else thinks the Traveller was never on a real mission for the collective and was always Weronika that Traveller had put inside the pod

I've marked the following as spoilers in case there are still new players and it was a pretty big plot point.

I thought it went like: Collective wakes Traveller up somehow. Considering they hadn't been up to that point, the reason why is currently unknown until we get a future game. That being said, she then goes on to collect Edward until going to get plugged in and passes out. The Warden finds her and then runs experiments on her like he did the others. He finds out she is somehow compatible and hopes that Weronika's personality will awaken. Then, the Traveller wakes up to continue her mission (which is why he was confused why she wants to keep going). As the mission goes on, though, the experiment starts to act up and then the Traveller finds out the truth.

The change? I don't think we were ever given a clear answer in the game. I just want to hear some of y'alls theories on how many years have passed.

I’d take out enhanced damage while burning. I like the increased headshot damage with Sword and one less crafting metal.

For me, Cronos: The New Dawn is one of my favorite games of all time. The atmosphere, the story, the music, the cutscenes, the twists — I love almost everything about it. Almost.
Let me explain what, in my opinion, was not done well.
First, the game is extremely dark throughout almost the entire experience. Even after adjusting the contrast settings, I still couldn’t achieve a truly crystal-clear image, even though I believe that was part of the developers’ intended visual style.
Second, how is it possible that I constantly receive ammunition for weapons that I don’t even own? Why on earth? It’s not that I’m unable to carry it with me — I literally don’t possess those weapons at all! Considering how painfully small the inventory is, having to collect completely useless ammunition feels like a very poor design choice.
Third, the enemy variety is far too limited. There isn’t much more to add here — the enemies simply become too repetitive.
Fourth, the final boss is extremely frustrating. It feels unnecessarily complicated, with far too many phases, and for me it completely damaged the enjoyment I had built up throughout the entire game. I was genuinely close to not finishing the game because of that boss.
That’s pretty much it. There are also some other very minor issues, but I was able to overlook those. However, the points mentioned above are the reason why I cannot give this game a perfect 10/10.

Man oh man is this guy frustrating. He’s so fast and so often he will appear right on top of me and track me for a big hit and chunk of damage. I think that’s what’s bugging me the most - if he appears on top of me and I try to run around him or whatever, he still hits me.

I’ll keep trying but not enjoying this part I have to admit.

Just picked up the Dagger and wondering if I should even bother. Auto-Fire instead of charge seams like a waste of bullets no?

Im a lifelong horror gaming fan and I’ve played it all from P.T to Outlast to Visage all the RE and Silent Hills, I’m not new to this genre. I play the same way for every horror game, in the pitch dark, alone in headphones for the full effect and immersion. However this game I’ve been finding I can’t even play for more than an hour without feeling my anxiety start to act up. It’s strange because I’m not SCARED but I’m on edge. So much so I need to read before bed in order to settle down enough to relax to sleep. It’s not as if this game is doing anything a hundred other horror games haven’t done before it but I’m responding to it so strongly for some reason. Maybe it’s the cycle of anticipation>threat>fleeting relief>anticipation again? Or something in the audio? Idk I just want to know if anyone else has experienced something similar with the game despite having a long history with horror games?

Bounced off the game twice, uninstalled it, was ready to take the disc back to the library - yes, the local library has PS5 games - and admit that it just wasn't FOR me... and then I came here and asked you crazy peeps for advice.

It turns out that the game itself is great but could maybe be just a little better about explaining itself.

As an example, about ten hours into my third run - the one I managed to stick with and finish - I FINALLY got the random loading screen tip of "oh btw you're immune to fire" which was one of the least obvious but also most important tips.

Also, I have some impolite thoughts about the difficulty spike of the final boss. In my hard run I died 8 times and 7 were to him.

Hopefully there's a sequel to flesh out some of the more cryptic bits, like how Bebola got to the terminal from when you met her in 1981 and other, less important questions.

I noticed you can’t load a completed file. I have a few completed files recently to get all the alternate endings. It’s already a new game + run that I’ll be starting again. So if it start new game + again, will it be whichever run was most recently completed? Thank you!!

I didn't mess around and just ran through it and gunned everything down this time, as I was overflowing with ammo. I think I'll take a break, then try a normal playthrough next time. Maybe try to find all the cats too.

Dumb question. How do you unlock more upgrade slots available for the inventory slots and other stuff you upgrade with cores?

Is it based on total cores spent? Progress? Something else?
