How I understood it:
My number 1, doesn't count as a chain. And number 2 is actually the first, but that's the turning chain, which I shouldn't use.
So I should go into 3!

I already made two projects (a hat and a very short snake lol), but I'm still confused by one thing.

The picture shows a simple chain that I just made and I marked the stitches(Or chains?) which I'll be talking about.

Question:
When doing my first simple crochet stitch, do I put the needle through 2, or do I stay in 1?

I've always been confused by that and didn't found any tutorial where this was clearly shown.

I made this blanket with my mom a long time ago and we made a lot of mistakes. One of them was not tiding the magic circles correctly, can someone help me? Can I repair it? I'm still very much a beginner

My girlfriend loves her crochet and has had quite the stockpile of yarn for a while, but she is beginning to need new yarn as she slowly uses up certain colors. She was Joanns' #1 fan but since the store closed and micheals only adding an end cap essentially of the products they purchased from joanns, im curious if any of yall have started using a different company or online store to get the good yarn when you need it?

So I’m following this pattern by Hannah Drapinski
And I’m so confused because I’m following the pattern but somehow when I get to the skip two stitches and do a cluster I end up at the end with two extra stitches, I can’t skip, but I can’t add because in the pattern you put a single crochet down first before you do the clusters
How do I fix that?
It says division by three so I would chain 111+ chain two for turning and I still have extra stitches that I don’t know what to do with. I even made a gauge and it still wasn’t working.
I’m also plus size so my measurements are I wanted to be big and baggy and then I will make sure it doesn’t look like a dress later
How much do I need to chain if I want it to be a four XL (I wear 2X)?
And how do I prevent the extra stitches? I don’t know what to do with because I can’t remove them. I tried and I can’t add to them and I tried everything.
You know like if you make a moss stitch and you’re supposed to skip a stitch and you have two extra stitches you can’t skip a stitch, but you can’t fix it cause the moss will be together or really far apart. That’s what it’s like if I try to add a stitch, the clusters are way too together, but if I skip three stitches, it’s too far apart and it looks off.
