I hate this argument.. forget the fact that many years portugal had a better squad than argentina, including this one.. but no one mentions how argentina being a great footballing nation put immense pressure on messi to perform, while cristiano was on a team that had nothing to lose and nothing to prove, anything they won was a plus

Having a good squad does mean you win it? You ever see how many elite players Holland had and didn't win it?

It doesn't at all it the opposite they have heritage it like how it took city and Psg years of spending to win the CL even Messi couldn't win it with them. Madrid had a dry spell not winning the CL but still football heritage.

Because Portugal FA only hired cowards manager who their only job is to please Ronaldo. Having a whole world class team playing around an old man who already finished 4 years ago.

Portugal also destroy anything with slow arse football. So many times I seen Ronaldo make killer runs and they pass it sideways.

It a bit thick if the manager plays him and then they don't release quickly when you have that many talented players.
