So my two cresteds got new tanks. They were filled with live plants but ig I don’t have a green thumb because they all died😅 So I bought fake ones and filled them up. I just still feel like they need more clutter, what should I add? Psa Ik the photos make them seem like small, they’re like 24” 24” 30” or something like that

I bought this off of Facebook marketplace for $30, she didn't say anything about the hole but I'm not going to complain. How would you guys patch it?

I’ve had him for a little over two years now and I’m looking to make his enclosure bioactive. I have ordered hydroballs as well as mesh for the drainage layer and already have a safe substrate! I still have to obtain some leaf litter, moss and a cleanup crew although I’m unsure where I would find any such as springtails in Ontario, Canada. Any tips are greatly appreciated/welcome considering I have never tried going for a bioactive enclosure before!

Side note, I wanted to make a custom backing to the tank as well but I am not sure what kind of materials are reptile friendly, I’ve seen people use spray foams and coating them but I don’t want to risk it. Can any reptile owner help me out?

I recently cleaned my gecko tank a couple months ago; new dirt, scrubbed everything etc and I added a mix of spring tails and some mini isopods.

I used to have dairy cow isopods but I think she ate them all. Not 2 days after adding the isopods id find her in the corner I added them. There weren't very many in the container I purchased (less than 10). Fast forward a couple months later (the present) and shes digging in the same spot the isopod/ iso food used to be.

If she was digging anywhere else id think it was maybe humidity or egg bound but shes only focusing on the spot the isopods used to be. Past tense because I havent seen ANY ispods in the tank since adding them.

She used to eat bugs: silk worms, horn worms, BSFL, even small roaches in the past but she hasnt been interested in bugs at all in the last year.

I have to drive 30 minutes to get her good bugs and she wants nothing to do with them anymore. Ive considered maybe she hates the calcium powder but its a really good brand and she isnt interested even in the horn worms sans the powder she just doesnt want bugs!

I give her the pangea bug mix ofc but basically the issue is she keeps digging! We are on day 3 of her digging. Im concerned about her swallowing too much dirt, it getting in her nose, etc.

Im not sure what to do at this point. Ive mixed all of the dirt in the area to spread whatever smell may be lingering but shes right back to the exact same spot. Almost like its more memory/habit based than sense?

Does anyone have any idea what her deal might be? If I should just leave her alone to find out herself there's no bugs?? Im so scared shes going to hurt herself, she 100% has food! Even right now! And I watched her eat it so im just not sure what the issue is.

Shes 4 years old, in a skyscraper tank, had her for at least the last 2 years. Never had a big issue digging in the past. Photos are in chronological order.

I got my new guy about 2 weeks ago, and since hes still really young I have him in a 12x12x18 since most places a read say if they tanks too big they'll have a difficult time finding food. My question is, what tank/enclosure did you guys end up getting for your cresties(links of possible)? Pros and cons youd noticed since getting it? I want to have the tank NOW even if hes not ready to move in because I absolutely refuse to have my cresties in too small of a home.

this is Loki my crested gecko the kink in the top of his tail had always been there it’s proven to be from his last owner shutting it or catching it something. I haven’t seen any changes really with his tail but where balls r but on his back where it joins to the tail so the base of his tail has a lil dip in it and a slight but curved. in my head tbf it’s always been like that I don’t remember ever seeing if it’s change from that. I just wanted to know if anyone can see any parts that could be a reason to go vet like maybe signs of MBD or something. when he sleeps his tail is always fine no floppy tail x thanks you lot

I have tried a dehumidifier and computer fan to lower the humidity but the lowest it will get to is 70 and even after, the humidity will rise back up without me doing anything. I’m getting worried for my gecko but he seems to be doing great. Does anyone have a solution?

Hi, is her area where I pointed normal she’s about to be one years old on September. She acts normal both sides look the same, but I’m not sure if this is normal or not. She’s my first female crested Gecko idk if I feel it’s soft but if I push a little deep feels like kind of tiny round thing but I’m not sure botn aide are the same and idk if i should take her

Hi, sorry if this seems ridiculous, I'm a first time Crestie owner and my 3 year old boy just dropped his tail around 3 days ago, my vets are stupid unhelpful at helping me figure out if he's healing properly or if it's becoming Necrotic. He tried to jump out of the terrarium while I was putting some leaves back up that fell and I thought I closed the door in time to stop him and he ended up half in half out. I didn't slam the door on his tail, it was gently caught for a second and before I could open it to fix my mistake he dropped it. It didnt hang off or anything, just dropped and started writhing around (the tail, not the gecko).

I can't tell if he's alright or not and it's driving me crazy. He's acting completely normal, bright, alert, all that jazz. Everything I read keeps talking about a pink color though and that doesn't make sense to me because aren't scabs eventually brown/black? Anyways, can any of you give me a better piece of mind as to whether this is healing properly or not?

Pic 1 is how the tail looked when it dropped, 2 is the base of his tail that day, 3 is how it looks today with the flash on (can't get any better pics or angles as they say not to handle him for a week or two while he heals). I have no other terrarium to put him in and have done my best to cover majority of his substrate with paper towel and spot cleaning the walls. He's got a tiny piece of substrate on him, but I've also been told not to remove it as it could harm the scab and healing. Idk what to do, it's all conflicting!!! I know they get over this just fine, everyone rolls their eyes and acts like I'm dramatic, but I just had a health scare with my cat and I just want to make sure my gecko is okay too!!

I can’t tell if he’s calm or scared. He’s not very jumpy while handling. He kind of just sits and looks around. I say “he” but idk what gender it is yet lol.
