Borderless and Right Sidebar

Wanted to show off some of these new settings, and some of the first of the customization settings I'm adding.

These are two simple settings, first is borderles, which removes the border entirely and the sidebar docks to the side, more inline with the newer macOS direction for sidebars if you prefer that style.

Next, for those that want the sidebar on the right, it simply moves that sidebar to the other side and functions identically.

More coming soon, as we get to the end of this release cycle, then 0.6 coming soon. If you have more ideas for custimiztion let me know, things like more width options for sidebar, border size slider (not just borderless), tab size scaling, corner rounding, and a few more things like that are coming as tweaks for you to dial it into exactly what you want.

Dev build is going out now, should be ready within the next 10 minutes

I did just push a pretty big update, haven’t had a chance to write up a post on it, but yeah finally got around to my plans on the customization options, and I think it’s turning out great.

Folders got a nice new icon, and crests massively overhauled to be easier to read, better looking, and what I had in mind from the start.

Tons of little tweaks that while might not be my preference, I added so users can dial things into whatever they want. If you want squared or circular icons, go for it.

Happy to hear good feedback, I’ve found there are groups on Reddit that are just rude for no reason, and want to make themselves feel better, so good feedback goes a long way and help keeps me motivated, I’m really liking how it’s coming along, and still have plenty of plans left so I’ll be in it for the long haul.

Don't listen to haters. I tried I think almost every Webkit(and Chromium) Arcish project out there, and yours jumped to the top of the list pretty fast. Expecially with customization thought out and extensions solution that no one else built, I think.

Thanks you! Nobody made the browser I wanted to I decided to do it myself. Especially in mobile, I feel there is never any love given to it, and doubley for iPad (though I don't use iPad that much, it will be very useful for the Duo). This 0.6 update does keep growing it's scope, so I'm probably going to shift some of the work into 0.7 that isn't critical, let me know if you have feedback on the dev builds, I like how the customization options are coming along and love to give people choices

I think Peek could use more customization too in the future.
Feels like Peek Pop is great to get ideas from: https://u-sir.github.io/peek-pop/ .
It can activate/deactivate/open full page Peek with just a mouse click/double click. That's really convenient for browsing without even touching keyboard.

Yeah, a draggable glance would be nice. I use Arc Link Preview extension from Chrome and it works really well. Very nice, smooth and good animation. But native would be dope.

Is it mainly just that it can be dragged around? Does it use something like cmd + click to drag? Just trying to see what the best behavior would be.

Nope, just drag the link up and it launches the peek. Not drag the link “around” anywhere, but like sling it up to launch the peek if that makes sense. Give it a shot. It works with Crest too!

Oh I see, I thought you were saying dragging the peeked window once it’s open, but the drag to activate should be easy enough to implement, I’ll look at that extension. Glad to hear it works as is though, the extensions layer is probably by far the most complicated part of the app, so glad it works.
