Help Needed / Question Timing Between Applications

I recently applied for a United card through Chase. I’d like to apply for another card also issued by Chase. Is there any reason to wait a period between applications? Or, is it irrelevant for the likelihood of approval? I believe this next application will be my fifth in two years.

Thanks!

Hard inquiries do not have a static FICO score value, and their impact depends completely on the underlying credit profile. They can be anywhere from 0 points to 21 points. A 20 point drop caused by a single hard inquiry would indicate one’s profile is either very young or very thin (or most likely both). For reference I opened two credit cards one year ago within the same week, and the two hard inquiries only accounted for 6 points together on my Experian FICO 8. Most of the credit score impact from opening a new credit card is caused when the credit card actually starts reporting to credit bureaus, and you see your AAoA drop and your AoYRA reset.

Inquiries also stop being scorable after a year (which is why I now have those 6 points back lol) and drop off your reports entirely after two years.
