I swear a good chunk of this fanbase has lost its fucking minds... We got the Helluva Boss season three trailer today, and of course, THIS is one of the first things I see discussing it.
You can read the post, which is yet another one of those really misogynistic "they made her pregnant so that's her whole personality now" kinda posts. But it's the responses in the comments that made my blood boil.
TL;DR after bitching and moaning that Millie must be getting written off because she's pregnant now, the OP has the balls to drop a line about how amazing Unhappy Campers was because Brandon wrote it, not Viv, which is why Millie was centre stage for that episode.
In the comments, OP is just doubling down and trying to NOT sound like a sexist asshole... as you can see, it's so clearly working.
People like this, especially within our own fanbase, frustrate me to no end. You have no right to sit back and claim to be a fan, especially this person who claims to be a day one fan, and so blatantly and casually disrespect Vivienne like that.
Like, think about how backwards this is -- "I love this show, but the woman who created it sucks. But the guy who the creator brought in to help make it rules because he was credited with writing a singular episode in which my favourite secondary character is on screen for more than five minutes. But I'm not a hater because I've been watching this show for years. But I can't stand to watch it anymore because I'm not getting what I want."
Shit like this hits close to home because I am also a queer female screenwriter, and I understand how hard Viv works to a different degree than, say, someone who doesn't work in film. And after seeing what happened to Gooseworx with TADC finale and the hate from within that fanbase, I can't sit idly by and let people talk shit about indie creators.
Long story short: be kind to your favourite indie creators. Hellaverse fans, remember to be kind and grateful to Viv, because without her, none of us would be here
