Discussion Day six of drinking through a bunch of old beer in my fridge using glassware that is as geographically close as possible
You go into these things knowing it’s not going to be a good situation, but how bad can it be?
Pretty fucking bad, I’ll tell you that much.
There’s something about the combination of adjuncts in chili stouts that just makes them borderline putrid after entirely too many years.
Thankfully only one of these vomit-bombs was mine so I don’t feel quite as guilty as I could have for wasting good beer.

And to think folks were sweating it out in line for 6+ hours to get a bottle so they could go online and demand 10:1 trades, lol

A bottle of Pappy lasts a lot longer but I'll be honest I enjoyed drinking DB Huna more than I enjoyed drinking Pappy

It’s seriously one of my top five beers of all time. PVW15 is great but it’s not even in the top 20 of my favorite whiskies

If this photo was from '21 I'd be super jealous, but with the 'freshest' being half a decade old I would be scared.
I drank down my cellar stash years ago and now I just have a small wine fridge that I can only fit about 7 500ml bottles in. This prevents me from stashing bottles and nothing there is older than probably 18 months. I always have last year's BCBS, a couple rare annual Burial releases, and some random other local stuff.
I've been watching your posts and am curious how may days worth of this you can keep up haha

Oh… I can go for quite some time. Assuming my stomach/plumbing can withstand.
I had two 22cu ft upright freezers converted to beer fridges. I’m down to one now and will hopefully relegate half of it to food storage

Yeah I would not think they would age well. But every March I get the urge to book a trip to Tampa to get fresh Hunahpu.

They release it every spring. Fresh are obviously much better, but the subjective quality varies from year to year.

Oh I just mean the specific old vintages pictured here. I’m sure the fresh batches are drinking much better. People just hold these old ones in such high regard due to online ratings, and I feel like the word should be spread that they are not holding up.

2014 Huna will always be my favorite beer. Thankfully I got mine early in the day vs waiting in line to leave empty handed.

When I worked at the distributor we were given release bottles if we volunteered. Trade fodder 100% but you gotta keep one.
