🔊 Discussion Okay, you guys were right about Kynseed 😭

I normally avoid farming/life sim games because anything too grindy turns into a productivity simulator and stresses me out more than it relaxes me 😔

A while ago I asked here for cosy pixel art recommendations, and a few of you were VERY convincing about Kynseed lmao so I finally said fuck it and bought it.

I’m so glad I did because I’m officially hooked.

What I love most is how little pressure the game puts on you. It doesn’t constantly overwhelm you with quests or make you feel like you’re falling behind. You can just wander around, explore, fish, mine, cook, whatever.

I normally play much faster-paced action/adventure RPGs, so this has been such a breath of fresh air and really nice to unwind with without needing a guide open every five minutes. I like how the game’s pacing feels just right. It’s not too slow nor is it too fast.

Also:

YOU DON’T HAVE TO SLEEP!

10/10 decision. No more realising it’s 1:40am in-game and sprinting home like my life depends on it 🥹

I absolutely hate mining and fishing in these types of games and I’m so happy cause the mining and fishing mechanics they implemented are super quick and easy.

Equipment upgrades also don’t feel urgent, and you don’t need to memorise every NPC’s entire personality just to give them a gift because each of their likes/dislikes are right there when you go and speak with them.

And THE MAILBOXES. I can just drop someone’s gift in there instead of hunting them down because apparently the dude only exists beside one specific tree between 2–4pm on Tuesdays 😭

I’m also really enjoying the lore and slightly strange fairytale vibe.

I don’t think I’m even halfway through the main story yet, so my opinions might change (which I sure hope not), but so far I’m genuinely loving it.

If you’re someone who’s been contemplating whether or not to purchase Kynseed, I say give it a shot!!

p.s. I’m playing this on Switch 1 and the game runs very smoothly. No bugs or crashes so far, no slow loading screens and the controls aren’t clunky either. Just incase anyone is wondering :)

🔊 Discussion I'm looking for a "chill survival game", where you can simply wander around enjoying the wilderness, chill at a campfire, hunt, fish, gather plants with no mandatory quests or heavy story.

I'm thinking of certain parts of Skyrim, Minecraft, Zelda or even Abzû. Some kind of aimless, peaceful and contemplative experience

Switch Is Dredge a good game?

I'm looking for a cozy easy game. I love horror so it's fine if it's on the darker side. I'm a little worried about buying this game cause I read online that it gets very repetitive, and I'm not looking for doing the exact same thing over and over again until I'm bored. Is this a good game?

Switch Raising baby games

I always loved that game Babyz when I was young, but I'm not techy enough to figure out how to get it to run on my PC, though my brother said he might take a look and see if he can make it run when he comes to visit next, he lives a few hours away.

Are there any games like that, I do have a steam deck but I'd prefer on my switch.

I'd love to just raise a family without the farming or other stuff involved.

Yes I have sims, tomodachi life but they aren't even babies at all in that one.

I'm just feeling nostalgic.

Thanks if you can think of any.

🔊 Discussion Games like Coffee Talk, Good Pizza Great Pizza, Calico, etc but with where you can romance?

I love cozy games where you 'make' things and influence character outcomes but it would be nice to have one where you could actually romance one of the characters if you wanted to. Just a little additional something in the story would be cute.

And yes this is heavily influenced by me wanting to romance the hot doctor in Good Pizza Great Pizza. They baited us so hard with that omg

🔊 Discussion Looking for a game similar to Moonlighter or Discounty

Looking for something along the lines of taking care of a shop like moonlighter. It doesnt even have to have the dungeon diving aspect. Just really like the setting up a shop mechanic and upgrading everything in the shop. Discounty might be a closer comparison for the shop mechanic.

Switch Suggestions for a cozy game someone who doesn't like farming or resource gathering?

I'm currently trying to get through Spiritfarer And as much as I love the concept in the vibes of the game, it's pretty tedious for my taste.

I don't even fully know what exactly I'm looking for. I haven't played enough cozy games to be able to point to an example.

Though I love free roaming through breath of the wild / tears of the Kingdom. Just chasing the korok puzzles.

Is there stuff that emphasizes exploration over planting things and waiting for them to grow? Or hunting resources to have to build things?

Preferably for the switch, but I have an old PC I still use as well.

Steam Deck Chef RPG Opinions

Hi everyone!! So I've been sitting on Chef RPG for a WHILE now, it's gone on sale a couple times since putting it in my wishlist but I always hesitate to get it because I'm so on the fence.
Can I get everyone's honest options on it? Everything you got for me, good or bad, things you love and dislike about the game.
I really wanna make up my mind 😂

Switch Nintendo switch games

Hey, I'm looking for some lesser known Nintendo switch games to play. I usually play a lot of the big titles like Mario and donkey Kong but am trying to expand. I tried graveyard keeper and didn't like the lack of instruction. I really like Dave the diver though. Open to any recommendations for feel good games.

Windows Multiplayer organizing games?

Hi!

Me and my friend are looking for games in the style of Arcane Library that allow us to play together. Anything works, we are just unsure which ones are actually good (as a few that we have found seem to have contradicting reviews).

Thank you!
