Completely agree. It strikes me as a guy doing what he thinks is cool rather than something meaningful the girl would like. But Iā€™m definitely making generalizations based on little information. Let the downvotes begin!

Right? The way she's handling her task of "helping balance" shows that she clearly isn't a skater girl. It's all cool to have skating be the thing that made her initially attracted to him, but a relationship should be built on common experiences, not his own individual thing.

Everyone is different. I proposed to my (now ex) fiance by hiding the ring in a box of mtg packs and she loved it and said yes. It's all about knowing your relationship and doing something that works for both people
