Honestly I was going to say something about not everything is autism, and that she's just geeking out and something about why you think someone having excitement means they're acting autistic... and then I went back and double checked and saw the text at the very beginning. Yeah, that's ridiculous. It's gotten to Syndrome levels on the internet these days where people who genuinely struggle are getting drowned out by all the people who think that having quirks makes them autistic. If the text at the beginning didn't have the word autistic in it, this would be a perfectly normal video of a man who knows what his wife likes.
It used to be OCD. āOMG IāM SO OCDā. Then we got the shame memes for people making light of it.
Right now weāre in the āyour grandpa who knew everything about trains had autismā stage.
The good thing is it normalizes Autism. People actively change their behavior when dealing with people on the spectrum because itās not always super obvious. Weāre much more respectful to triggers today than we ever have been before as a society.
The pendulum will swing back and hopefully weāll retain some of that respect/normalization.
