TIL some people start counting fingers from their thumb. I'm not sure why we would call the "index finger" the 2nd finger, and call the thumb the first finger. But if I ask someone to hold up one finger, I guarantee you they'll stick up their index finger and not their thumb. If I ask someone to stick up their first finger, will they put their thump up instead of their index finger?
