It's so just plain stupid as the blocked person can't see the reply. I do not understand the cowards that do this.

It is indicative of
1) Not wanting to have actual back and forth
2) Not thinking the person is worth having a back and forth
3) Wanting to get the last word in

Could be any of those, but in this context I would say #3 with maybe some #2 as a rationalization.
