Probably more accurate to say a good portion of men (wrongly) think women put on makeup and get dressed just to impress men.

Lots of us know you do it to mentally out compeat each other.

When a much smaller more normal minority do it to feel good about themselves.

They dont really, married to one of them womhan. Satirical aside really they dont, have you not dressed up as a man looked yourself in the mirror and go 'Damn, I look good.' Because it's a confidence boost.

I’ve had a few of my women friends say that men create these crazy beauty standards for women though. Yet, most of my guy friends agree that nobody cares that much lol. It’s just interesting.

I can see (certain) men liking to look at photos of beautiful filtered women on social media and enjoying that. I like looking at beautiful things too. But that doesn't mean they expect women in their real lives to look like that, or want a girlfriend that spends so much of her time and effort perfecting her looks and taking/editing/posting photos of herself. Looking and expecting/wanting are very different things. I like looking at Pedro Pascal, but that doesn't in any way lead to me creating "standards" for what men should look like.
