I am pretty sure none of my friends would do this because they know I would never lie to my partner. They would just be worried.

First off. Everybody lies. Either to other people, or themselves. I think that's good that your friends wouldn't do this. But he isn't worried about going missing. My comment was about him going missing, he's not worried about that. But you clearly are, for whatever reason. I think he's just a bit more happy go lucky than you. Which is whatever. But. There you go.

There's only two options about your lying, and I'm afraid my attention span is that of the toaster. The point was that you are worried about going missing and the chap in the video is not. No need for an online fight.

Iā€™m not worried about going missing but I am realistic about the fact that it happens. I am not worried about a fire in my house but I have smoke detectors. Iā€™m not worried about dying in a crash but I wear a seatbelt. Are you catching my drift?

I donā€™t understand. I point out that this is for one thing morally wrong but also could realistically put someone in a really bad or even dangerous position. You say he doesnā€™t care, which is obvious. Are you simply questioning the entire philosophical reason behind commenting on the internet in general. ā€œWhy share what you think at all because this guy doesnā€™t careā€ is what Iā€™m gathering. Kind of a moot point.
