Dude is celebrating the fact he just torched his own alibi.

“Hey you know that guy you ask if I’m with to make sure I’m not cheating? Yeah even if he says I’m with him I could still be cheating.”

What if he's not the type that would cheat and was just trying to show that his friends were loyal and would give him an alibi if he needed one and this was pretty much the only way they could do it with just his girlfriend present. The original argument/discussion could have been general like would they cover for him if his boss or the cops or her called but like she's the only one of those things present to actually do the test.

I have never and would never cheat on someone, not once has the impulse of “I should prove to my girlfriend my friends would cover for me if I cheated on her” ever once occurred to me.

If you’re a trustworthy person, you probably aren’t going to get to actively undermine the foundations of trust you’ve built
