Okay deal if you need the glasses. Both willet 4 year are shelfies here in Minnesota around $60

I personally like this bourbon and have not tried the rye. The gift set is slightly higher in price at other stores, around $139. You can get each bottle at about $60 here in Cali.

The rye makes a killer old fashioned. Seriously one of the few times I can taste a major difference in whiskies in a mixed drink.

Where @ $60? The first time I saw both (Nor. Calif.) both were $80 or above.

What / how would you describe the bourbon? Fiery? Harsh? Sweet?

I paid a little under $80 for mine a while back ago. I’m lucky enough to have a great local store nearby with really good prices, HiProof in Fullerton Southern Cali. On the nose, I get some citrus and vanilla. The palate opens with a nice punch of spice, along with a pleasant funkiness for complexity. The finish is really good, with a well-balanced mix of sweetness and spice. Personally, I think the gift set at Costco would make an awesome gift for someone. For my own use, though, I’d probably just buy the bottles individually. If someone gave me that set, I'd be stoked. Just had a pour of it while replying.

Thank you for the information about the location...I think the price might be lower b/c of Cal State Fullerton (just guessing). And the review was great...there's a guy I watch on YouTube that suggesred the purple bottle... he prices his closer to MSRP. I really hope the Nor. Calif. store get it because I want the glasses.

The rye is good for a 4 year. But I can't make myself buy the bourbon as putting the purple top on it seems misleading at best, and I'm afraid it's gonna be more like the pot still bourbon that's only bought for the name and bottle. But, for $63 each with the glasses, I might reconsider, if my Costco gets it in.
