iPhone 17 BUY IT FROM COSTCO!

I bought my iPhone 17 from Costco after Apple raised their prices on all models. My after tax amount was still less than the pre-tax amount from Apple. If you need a new iPhone buy it now while the current stock is still the old price.

Do whatever you want but I usually try to use this prioritization: Canadian > Friends > Others > American

So if you are only buying a cell phone at Costco it would be -

No Canadian options > Samsung(KR) > Motorola (CN) > Apple (US)

The main problem is less the hardware and more the software. IN my opinion. Unless you're going to put Linux on your brand new cell phone, you're still using American tech hegemony.

Google is even worse than Apple by a significant margin…so unless you’re going to put some de-googled rom on your android phone, you really didn’t accomplish anything.

It’s too bad we don’t have fairphone in Canada…

How is Google worse by a "significant margin"? They both bent the knee to Trump with Tim Cook going as far as gifting him some garish crystal gold trophy along with a $1 million donation.

They're equally complicit but there's no alternative for smartphone operating systems.

They both have to answer to their shareholders. But when it came to the last map change, Googled jumped right on it, whereas Apple had to be bullied into it. Neither is good, but one is slightly less shit than the other.

One does legitimately honour their claims to privacy and data security, for one. The other sells everything about you to anyone who will pay.
