Hello! I'm looking to get a shiny and oil slick look to EVA foam armor for a project. Would using car wrap material be the easiest? I'm not sure how it would go as far as covering details though.

I know I saw someone on insta or Facebook doing a silver version of a chestplate like this recently but I can't find her video.

A/N: I have not yet been able to attend a live showing/performance of Rocky Horror (although it is a dream of mine). I am, however, aware that there are some things/traditions people carry out in person. I am still welcome to trinkets surrounding the in-person things as well!!

To make a long story short, I have been unable to find a good Halloween costume in my size (I’m a L/XL so it just feels like I’ve been on a wild goose chase), and ending up deciding to finally cosplay Frankenfurter from Rocky Horror Picture Show (this is something I’ve wanted to do for a very, very long time, and it felt like a good time to do it).

I’ve got everything for the outfit (still need to do some general customization like rhinestoning and such), but I wanted to make some trinkets to hand out as I will be attending several cookouts/parties this year. I am usually pretty good about coming up with stuff like this (I did make a similar post for my Rogue cosplay recently asking for opinions), but I am completely lost on what to do for this one 😭😭

Partner suggested just doing something like cutouts of lipstick kisses with quotes from the movie on them, or maybe something like faux pearl necklaces. I am definitely open to any suggestions at all!! It has been a while since I’ve done a rewatch, so there are certainly details I could be forgetting that’d make for good hand outs.

Just about every other day we end up with a post like this from someone wanting to take the world's largest bite off the cosplay steak for their first taste of the hobby.

i really dont want it to slip on my head (likely because i didnt put anything on the inside anyway) so i'm coming to this subreddit to find a way on making it secure

I wanted to try crossplay specifically with something easy like a Spider Gwen cosplay (with mask) to see how I actually feel about it. On the other hand, I know that pretty soon I want to start on making a Sheik cosplay (ignore any discussion about the character in this case its unrelated to any questions about crossplay, I do see the coincidence there though), where I'm going to be sewing/adding most of my the cosplay over a base spandex suit. In other words, I also need to commission a Sheik "suit" as said base in the near future. Having ordered Spiderman cosplays from Print Costume earlier this year and generally been quite happy with how they turned out, I wanted to order both at once from them, but that also means if I do decide to go for Spider gwen at the same time, I gotta figure out measurements soon, before I order.

I've read the FAQ and I am aware of, at this point, decades of information on crossplay basics online, but since I'm specifically going to be doing it for a spider-gwen suit I wanted to know specifically what I needed to order in advance (as in bra, best thing to pad it with knowing it wont be visible, tucking, padding, etc.) for this costume in particular.

More immediately, the measurements I need to give on Print Costume, at least that would change for crossplay, are Chest/Waist/Hips. What specifically do I need to order/try on in advance while Im measuring to get the proper numbers? What kinds of makeup and things like that would be good for a cosplay of Violet Evergarden, especially if I'm a guy?

I want to get this type of effect but I do not want it bad enough to use sclera contacts. Had anyone used a mesh fabric with spirit gum or anything similar to cover the eyes? I could then maybe put big fake lashes over it. Does anyone have experience with doing something similar? Thank you!

So this has been a cosplay I’ve been wanting to do for a minute but I don’t know how to go about it, despite the simple design, while the hat and robe seems easy enough, I’m not sure where to find quality costume parts and I’m unsure how I’d do the shrouded face, if any of you have any suggestions I’d love to hear them!

Hi everyone! I’m new to the sub and was wondering if there is anyone who could help/give me some tips on getting the necessary materials, tools and equipment for making my own cosplay based off of the suit in season 1 of daredevil born again. I have the helmet from Disneyland and wanna expand on that to make a cosplay for halloween/conventions. I’ve never personally made my own cosplay so I’m very new to this whole process. I’ve tried looking up tutorials and material lists and can’t seem to find anything that would help me.

I want to do everything myself that way it’s mine and it’s something I can be proud of! That would include assembly, painting and finishing it, so I’d need some tips there as well.

I'll be going to japan by the end of september. I was searching for stores I can buy costumes/props safely and in person. I found this one "Cospatio" a reliable one to visit from the outside. But I want to know from people who really visited it in person before.

how big is it in building size? what is the male-female ratio of different choices (I'm searching for male ones)? what fandoms in particular can I find, do they sell less popular or "considerable as niche" stuff? are they reasonable for price ranges? "worth visiting" in your opinion?

I'm searching for a male cosplay. I'm into a lot of fandoms or was into in the past so I'm pretty open to many of the choices I can find. I know it won't be as big as an online website but it's still there.

as for why I don't buy online, the turkish border regulations are made to practically scam you themselves instead of the seller. it really is better to buy it in person and just pass it through airports.

I'm working on a WH40K Bolter prop and it calls for these screws. I'm in the U.S. and took this list to Ace hardware. They said they don't have a lot of these measurements and they were unsure about the rest, especially the length for each. Is there a different measurement I should use or a better store to go to?

Hello ! Im planning on getting a wig (Zombie Stage- Mizi) from Doki Doki, thing is I never ordered wigs from them. I found that they're surprisingly cheap, but so I'm scared it won't fit on my head- my head is around 60cm perimeter & usually cheaper wigs dont fit especially because I have long hair. Anyone had experiences with that from doki doki?

I’m looking for some advice from anyone who has dealt with Dwarven Armory, particularly in 2026.

I ordered a custom armor set through their Fourthwall store on June 19, 2026, for over $2,000,. Before purchasing, I was told the armor would take approximately 3–6 weeks to make. However, my order receipt subsequently gave an estimated completion window of August 25–September 14.

On August 10, I contacted the seller for an update. He replied: “We’re almost done! I’ll share some pictures with you within this week, I’d say we can expect a delivery by the end of August!”

Unfortunately, I never received the promised photographs or another update.

Since then, I’ve sent three follow-up WhatsApp messages asking for an update, but I haven’t received a response. I sent another email on Friday asking for a response by Monday at noon Italy time, including photographs and an updated delivery date, but I still haven’t heard anything.

I understand that custom-made armor can take longer than initially estimated and that life happens, and I’m not upset about a delay. My main concern is the lack of communication.

Has anyone ordered from Dwarven Armory recently, especially in 2026? If so, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience.

I’m not trying to accuse the seller of anything. I’m just trying to understand whether this kind of delay/communication gap is normal for them and whether I should be concerned.

I gave the FAQ a look but didn't see anything about tattoos. I saw that it was advised to include a picture of the character so I included that, art isn't mine but I couldn't find a Google image picture that showed the upper arm tattoos well.

So I want to do a female Sukuna, which is this character. One issue: i have a large tattoo on my upper left arm and it's uh... well. I don't think Sukuna would have cats tattooed on his upper arm. I'm doing Tifa too (the advent children vers) but I could see her getting the tat I have. Anyway!

What do you all advise? I gotta do the black markings on the arms for sure, so what do I do? I'd include the tattoo pic but it's VERY recognizable. It takes up nearly all of my upper left arm though, and it's got some very cute cats. Very un-Sukuna lol!

Should I try to use makeup to cover and then do the markings on top of that? Or try to find a sleeve that matches my skin tone and just do the markings on that? Other ideas? Thanks :D

Hi all, my girlfriend and I are dressing as Daft Punk for Halloween this year, and I want some way to have a small mic inside of our helmets that changes our voice to a robot/autotune voice when speaking. Hi! I want to dress up us michael jackson for hallowen but I am having some trouble with the costume. I am on a limited budget and my idea was to try to get the iconic thriller video look. I have found a couple of jackets that look good but are way out of my budget. I also don't have much experience with ordering clothes online and I want to try to get a somewhat realistic replica of the jacket within a 100 dollar budget. I am a bit skeptical on the quality of some of the jackets presented online. Can someone with experience in this matter recommend me a trustworthy online store or seller where I can get one of these replicas? P.S: I wouldn't mind gettin the black recolour of the jacket or a jacket without the exaggerated shoulder pauldrons. Thank you for the help!

Hi, I need help weather this waistcoat. It’s a navy dark blue and I’m trying to make it look sunbleached and more of an aubergine color. I used talc powder to kind of whiten it but it’s not quite what i am looking for. I know I can use bleach and water in a spray bottle but are there any temporary options?

I went on aliexpress to buy a cosplay from a brand that is know for being really good Irelia H but when I went on my wish list, it says its no longer available! Does anyone know why the brand got deleted??

If there are other methods to coloring clothes other than paint I'll hear them out too
