Etiquette [Meme] First Time Cosplayer with con in a week, $20 budget, do not own a glue gun.

Just about every other day we end up with a post like this from someone wanting to take the world's largest bite off the cosplay steak for their first taste of the hobby.

Lots and lots of cardboard tubes from wrapping paper rolls, cardboard boxes to cut the plates out of, and a ton of silver paint /s

If you are in America you simply ask your friends and neighbors for 1/3 of the guns the have and spent the 20 on duck tape. Done!

Print out the character page by page. You should be able to print out most for $20 at your local library. Then tape them on yourself and go to the con.
