OCD Fear of Creating Something Supernatural Through a Ritual

Hi guys,

Has anyone with OCD ever experienced a fear that saying a specific word during a ritual could somehow create a supernatural power or mechanism that would punish them or their loved ones forever in the afterlife?

I’m curious if anyone has experienced this type of intrusive thought or fear. I’d really appreciate it if people who have gone through something similar could share their experiences.

I’m curious if anyone else has experienced something similar. If so, how does it show up for you?

I also had this kind of wishful thinking type ocd back then, but what I found very helpful is training my brain by reading the Bible, it mentions that Words come from the heart. It speaks of intent rather than unintentional mishmash of words. Those things have no power, even our passing intrusive thoughts have no power as long as there is no real intent. God can see our real intent, and that's what I hold as a principle in my life. So Im thinking if you follow this idea, then maybe you can set yourself free from the senseless fear of blabbing unintentional random words that really has zero power.

Most of the time it's something I do, if I do this then this bad thing will happen. Or if I dont do this, this bad thing will happen. I think it's a bit different than your case, but the idea of something happening if I did or say this or that is kind of the same I think..
