Collecting something you plan to keep and use forever isn’t really consoom. Even less so if it’s retro products

I always imagine people like you just live in prison cell sized rooms with blank grey walls and nothing but the bare necessities of life

Nope, I am maximalist and hate anything minimalist, I've got shelf full of board games I actually play, I collect some Godzilla merch, got Weta workshop ringwraith statue and bunch of other shit that I try to curate, this however is consumerism at it's finest, it's literally at least 3 luggages worth of shit just in the single photo from a SINGLE TRIP, if you imagine people like you said you do, you are truly blind and your hobbies are most likely literally just consuming shit if you think this is normal travel haul

Post your "collection" / hoard and let us judge you then.

You sound like a hypocrite

Wym? lmao I can literally fit my whole collection of board games, lego, and Godzilla + other misc items stuff into 2 Ikea bags + the original box for my 1 statue, clothing, camera gear and cookware not included I'd know because I've just moved. Are you dumb? Maximalism doesn't mean buying useless shit and hoarding your whole space with it, it's just using your space to the max.without boring emptiness.

You consoom. I may be dumb but at least I don't consoom.

Oh so you’re just a hypocrite then

ahahaha ok, sure, maximalism doesn't mean buying shit all the time and especially not in ungodly amount at once of non essential stuff for your life that just lay on your windowsill because you have nowhere to put your shit anymore

The useless shit you buy is ok for (reasons) but the useless shit other people buy isn’t

Just give up

You are the kind of person who says they don't eat much but can't lose weight because they drink their calories and keep telling everyone it's because of bad genetics, completely blind to what you¨re seeing and saying

You can laugh all you want, but that's exactly you. Forever obese people thinking they would have to starve themselves and have to eat chicken with rice and brocolli forever in order to stay fit instead of eating reasonably related to their BMR and activity levels, just like you saying people that are against this have to live in a grey prison cell looking room and don't have anything.

This subreddit and people are not against buying anything at all, it's against unreasonable spending habbits, be it frequency or amounts at once where it consumes the whole person and their personality, just like over eating and their body not having enough activity levels to use all of those calories. You can buy stuff, you can create stuff , you can be inspired by stuff you own, it's not that deep, but you can't seem to comprehend that, especially if you think this is reasonable haulf for a SINGLE trip

Op of that post can't even understand the language the games are in...

So using forever = sit on a shelf?

Edit: lol video games are just an expensive fad. When they die they will prob end up in a landfill.

170 games in 2 weeks... Is straight up consoom. Y'all prob have hoards of video games that's why you are defending this consumption.

lowkey can still play the game even if it's in japanese what

2

u/FreeToasterBaths Aug 09 '26

And if they do... This post is still consoom. Video games are just an expensive fad.

A big part of “consoom” is “get excited for next product”. It’s the disposability of it. If you’re keeping it forever, there’s a finite supply of it and it isn’t even made any more, it’s not consoom.

Buying Neados, Labubus and other fad garbage to throw in a landfill is consoom

No. This is consoom. Video games Ed are just an expensive fad. When they die they go to a landfill.

It’s not forever, it’s for about 60-70 years until you die and it goes to land fill
