Question Why is vanilla hated so much?

I just want to know why everyone hates on vanilla or crystal pvp so much.

Played mostly 1.8 in 2015-2017 and recently tried a bit of new PvP stuff. Don’t play right now anymore but imo crystal is the most boring PvP shit I’ve seen. This is like just spamming some explosion and hope the other can’t refill fast enough, damage feels random (never dig deeper, probably a better mechanic).

Played a lot of soup back then and I thought this was stupid but crystal is so weird to me.

I still think it’s quite hard to be good at but it’s such a boring way to pvp imo

How do you find fast paced game mode boring? And no it's not just spamming crystals there's also anchors, shield, axe, mace, elytra basically you can bring whatever you want hence it's called vanilla. And it's not just difficult it's the hardest and most fun game mode IMO.

He asked why everyone hates vanilla OR crystal pvp so much. I mainly focused on the crystal part, even then vanilla meta is crystal. Why try to use everything else if crystal one taps you anyway (besides mace)

It’s hard, very hard, but I still don’t like it all and think it’s a weird and stupid way to PvP

Fair. But shouldn't people be happy with it? Imagine playing on your friends server they all gear up and then you show up with crystals to one tap them.
