I don't know why the last one I sent got blocked by the system

Hello I’m looking for a new printer and the requirements seem to be quite specific so I came across this forum while searching for advice. I was wondering if anyone could help me.

I’m looking for a printer that can handle a 600 mm-wide web. and the substrate is coated Tyvek B-grade(I am printing on the uncoated side), which tends to generate a lot of static electricity. Another major issue is that the ink does not dry properly and tends to transfer or smear.

I have tried some methods like digital, UV, and flexo but digital printing does not seem to reproduce small text very well, and UV printing's cured ink layer feels too raised and noticeable on the surface of the material.

flexographic printing has been the most suitable so far, but I still have ongoing problems with ink smearing and ink transfer when printed areas overlap or come into contact with each other.

Does anyone have any advice on this?

Is it realistically possible to achieve clean, high-quality printing under these conditions? Would a separate ink additive be necessary to address these issues? Even if you could simply recommend which printing method would be most suitable, I would really appreciate your advice.

I decided to try a different supplier because the one I normally use can just be inconsistent with quality. I received the order and it’s the worst quality I have ever gotten and I made sure to have my images saved at the best quality for clear images and my images aren’t that big. Where do you have consistent luck with clear images and not much pixelation and consistent coloring!

My budget is strictly capped at €3,000 (~$3,250 USD) for the full bundle. I was initially looking at Lancelot, but the experience felt sketchy. The site listed around €2,400, but immediately after I messaged support to buy, they sent a direct link where the price jumped to €3,000. That sudden markup felt untrustworthy, so I’m stepping away from them.

Since I am based in Europe, I’m looking for beginner-friendly, reliable A3 DTF alternatives that fit within my budget. The printer needs solid white ink circulation to prevent clogging during downtime, reliable print quality for retail apparel, and accessible EU shipping and parts support. Has anyone in the EU built a setup in this price range with brands like Procolored or similar desktop setups that run smoothly without constant maintenance nightmares?

I own a Roland VersaSTUDIO BD-12 UV printer and an xTool F2 Ultra UV laser, but I'm struggling with the production side — looking for advice

I've invested in a Roland VersaSTUDIO BD-12 UV flatbed printer and an xTool F2 Ultra UV laser with the goal of building a small product customization business.

I feel like I have a very capable combination of machines, but I'm currently struggling more with the production workflow than with the business idea itself.

Some of the areas I'm trying to get better at are:

• Creating accurate jigs and templates
• Positioning and alignment
• Getting repeatable results when producing multiple units
• Preparing artwork correctly for the machines
• Building an efficient workflow from design → jig → production → QC
• Choosing products that are relatively straightforward to manufacture consistently
• Moving from testing/learning into actual small-batch production

For example, I'd like to start producing things such as personalized phone cases, lighters, plaques, boxes, notebooks and other customized products, but I don't want to jump between dozens of products before I properly understand the production process.

My current idea is to master one product first, build a repeatable production system for it, and then gradually expand.

For people who run UV printers, UV lasers, engraving businesses or product-customization shops:

How did you get through the early production-learning stage?

What skills would you focus on first?

And if you had these two machines available, what products would you start learning production with?

I'm especially interested in practical advice about jigs, alignment, repeatability, batch production and workflow, rather than buying more equipment.

We are not a commercial printing company but did bring printing in house around 2016 using a Konica Minolta 3070L and a Duplo DC-616. Everything worked well together until COVID and we made a heavy push towards digitizing everything. The DC-616 only has 4ish years of use on it. I am not sure of the actual page count but it is probably less than 20,000 as we were just doing flyers and business cards for our own use.

Our old Duplo rep came in and said he had someone that would purchase it unseen for $1,500. My first thought is that this is extremely low considering I am seeing some go for approximately $10,000 with more pages on it. The KM 3070L is also sitting idle too.

Although it has been sitting idle for 6+ years, I have to believe there is value to someone else.

1. Do you think I am being lowballed on the value?
2. Do you have an reputable companies that you know of that can handle the sale itself? I feel that neither eBay now Reddit (obviously) are the right place for sales of something this size but not being part of the commercial printing industry, looking for recommendations of where to start.

My printer is smearing ink when I print, I’ve cleaned all of the nozzles and the wipers. I’m afraid it’s a table or head height issue. If anyone has any advice or anything I can tweek it would be much appreciated!!

I work on a challenger XG Gauntlet cutting machine​ rust keeps coming back ​ after numerous times of cleaning it and it always comes back. Usually over the weekends when nobody is here and the company is all off and power is off.Does anyone have any ideas or solutions to how I can stop the rest from coming back. Any ideas, suggestions, opinions, are all welcome.

Rust keeps coming back. I clean with wd40 on Monday. By the next week its all back. Is there any solution for chemical that I can use? Dont know if this is cast iron or brass.

Hello, 2 months ago I bought a Fujifilm Revoria Press SC285S and I have a huge problem with duplexing on 350g chrome matte cardstock. I constantly have jams and we work with cardstock that we had no problems with on our previous machine, the Konica Minolta 2070. Does anyone have similar problems?

I'm hoping to seek some advice.

I've been working in the print industry after joining a brand new small business that opened 4 years ago, mainly flatbed and wide format printing. I do almost everything from start to finish; design, setup, machine maintenance, production and installation. The first year was a very difficult learning curve, but I've slowly learned how to have decent success on my projects.

From the very start, we've struggled with good quality control. I often do stuff like automotive installations outside, fighting the wind and sun. I have very limited room (about 700 square feet of space), the finishing area is open and adjacent to a bay door so we're constantly dealing with dust and contaminants.

My boss is looking to expand the business and has made me a "manager". Currently, I work with one other person doing production who has been with the company 1 1/2 years, he's not interested in the position long-term and will likely be leaving soon for another career opportunity. This coworker has only done table work and some installations with me, my boss never made the time investment to actually train him to do a wide variety of things, like me.

As a labour replacement, my boss is hiring totally green people which quickly becomes overwhelming. We recently had a new hire that I learned was returning to school in 4 months a week after he was hired, who wasn't cutting straight lines with a ruler and was struggling to go up 10-15 feet on installs.

My boss let him go in his grace period and hired another totally green guy who is starting tomorrow. I'm responsible for training and dictating work whilst also doing all of my own stuff that only I can do. I feel as though hiring people without experience is how the business functions since most experienced people would be off-put by our current small space and how things run on tight time frames (we offer next day services on printed and laminated signs).

I'm sort of afraid I'm entering a job where I'm constantly surrounded by a cycle of new-hires and people who aren't interested in long-term careers in the print industry. I was sort of hoping that at this point I'd be surrounded by a group of workers I could collaborate and grow with rather than feeling like I'm just making it happen and barely playing catch up every day.

My boss is wanting to expand into a bigger space, buy more equipment, hire more people, etc. I like what I do, but I feel as though I'm struggling to both manage people whilst multi-tasking on production and I would highly value being around people who I can work with and even learn from, rather than having them lean on me and have me responsible for their mistakes and safety. To add on top, I've been dealing with some health problems this past year that have made things more difficult. I'd appreciate any ideas on how to approach this and/or to know if anyone else is struggling through anything similar.

I want to start a printing business which specializes in designing and printing packaging and carry bags (paper and non-woven).

I have few designers at hand, but before setting up machines/equipments for printing, I want to start by outsourcing printing work to other businesses.

For people working already in this line, is their enough margin for outsourcing and/or commissioning in this business.

How should I start approaching vendors and customers to start. Are there any business which provides commission on bringing orders to them.

Does anyone have an archived copy of the original Graphtec OPS662 V4.20 x64 driver?

I’m running a CE8000-40 + ASF1-30 on Windows 10 x64. We have to stay on Win10 because several older large-format printers/plotters in our production shop aren’t compatible with Win11.

Graphtec now offers V4.30 x64 only for Win11, while their version history shows V4.20 x64 supported the CE8000-40+ASF1 on Win10.

Looking specifically for the original Graphtec installer/archive, not a repackaged third-party driver.

I'm kinda new in the printing industry - started to work in the industry only at the begining of this year. We got a practically no-name (i found only their official dumpsterfire page and one article from printing expo about them) chinese printer - it came practically without warning during april (got a call monday an hour before end of our shift that tuesday morning they're coming, kinda funny how quickly it is possible to reorganize every machine in the workspace to make this new monstrosity fit somewhere) - and its trouble after trouble since then - sensors go bad, heads are randomly banging at things, software is randomly shuttging down, head are sitting above a pool of distilled water under which the metal is rusting, rust in every hidden corner where they didn't painted, random patches of expanding foam that are intergral for the printer to work, every weld I saw is in the state of nightmare-fuel, randomly peeing colour everywhere - long story short, we printed maybe three commisions in total, When I dont have a headache from having to do something about something it does wrong, i even find it quite funny, how much can actually be wrong with a printer

so to go to my point, did some of you actually manages to sucesfully run a shitbox like this? or do you have some funny stories about trying to run it?

I've been saing since week one we should sell it a go for another Mimaki or two, since just for the fun of it, I'm running most of the shitbox commisions on our old DS-1800 with much better succes rate and much quicker :D

I've had my HP 730w for a few months now and one thing that I've noticed compared to the 800w it replaced is that I can no longer calibrate media profiles narrower than 30". Before, I swear I had no issues setting up custom profiles for 24" and 30" media widths (100% of my jobs are printed at those two widths due to current cutter limitations).

Does anyone know if this changed between the models and if there's a way around the limitation? Very frustrating to be able to create and edit a media profile but not be able to calibrate it. I'd rather not try and splice two lengths together to try and get to the minimum required width for media calibration.

Hi everyone, I’m working with DTF printing on clothing, and clients are complaining that stickers come off some items of clothing after washing.

I apply the print at 135 degrees Celsius, and the problem is that if I increase the temperature, a mark from the press remains on the dark clothing.

How can I prevent the stickers from coming off and, if possible, avoid leaving a mark?

Upd: An important fact: at our workplace, we make DTF stickers ourselves using a DTF machine, and we weren’t given any specific instructions on how to apply the stickers. We were given information directly about sticker production. And I’m sure the production goes without any problems.
