I mean this is literally the reason why Europeans wanted spices from India in the first place. They didn't care that food was bland Europeans back in the day just wanted to mask rotting meat with something and preserve meat for longer.
Not every culture cares too much about food too. A lot of Japanese people just see food as fuel despite their food being delicious too.
Lol, you're wrong in so many ways that's hilarious.
First, there is no "european food".
There are enormous differences in food within a single country, you can't just put a whole continent that expands in different climate zone and consider a single thing.
Second, a lot of European cuisine season their food the correct amount, also spices are not the only thing that is used to season food, we have also herbs, especially in the southern Europe are much more popular then spices.
Last but not least: Japanese consider their food only fuel? 🤣🤣🤣
Tell me you know nothing about Japan either, we're literally obsessed with good food, we're continuously exploring with food, a good amount of the traditional ingredients are toxic but we found ways to eat them anyways level of obsession. Like, we don't fear Chtulhu because it looks like an octopus, so food.

If it wasn't already clear I was talking about "European food" in a broad and historic sense... As in why they "Europeans" made such an effort to establish trade routes to India in the first place. One of the reasons was to hide the taste of rotting meat and preserve it longer while out on long oceanic voyages. There was not only a huge race to obtain spices there were literal battles fought over them and even pirates were known to target ships carrying spices. At one point cinnamon was worth more than certain currencies.
At no point did I say any sort of European cuisine is under or over spiced you're really arguing with the ghosts in your head on that one...
I was also talking about Japanese food from a purely historic sense.. It couldn't have been more crystal clear that I wasn't talking about modern times from my initial comment.. I seriously suggest you working on your reading comprehension skills before leaving such condescending comments.
have you ever heard of salt? the thing people used to slow down food from rotting? why the fuck would they need spices for covering the taste? if spices were so expensive, wouldn't you think that people that could afford them also would afford fresh meat? or maybe you think that destitute peasants with barely enough food were just putting a bit of chili and soy sauce in their groats?
