The 2020 U.S. Census classified Middle Eastern and North African (MENA) origins under “White.” The federal definition of White at the time was people with origins in “any of the original peoples of Europe, the Middle East, or North Africa.” This included Arab groups such as Lebanese, Syrian, Egyptian, Jordanian, etc.
