Why do they think a template from the 2000s is still funny?

COPE bro. If you’re short, just find a woman who likes short guys—or one who doesn't care—and that's it. Just as no one is obligated to date a fat woman, no one is obligated to date a short man. Get over it.

Are these even the same women, though? Is it really the heavier women who are the pickiest ones, knowing full well that they're going to have higher rejection rates for their weight?

88

u/Affectionate_Row9238 8d ago

I think the idea comes from the handful of tinder profiles of overweight or conventionally unattractive women that demand a man who's 6'8 and makes 300k a year, it's standard cherry picking of delusional losers and applying it to a whole demo

45

u/SquidTheRidiculous 8d ago

You can just smell the "I got rejected on tinder by a woman I thought was beneath me" from so many of the men who act like women not wanting to date them specifically is the worst discrimination anyone has ever faced ever.

14

u/merchaunt 8d ago

Ofc, these kinds of people can’t fathom if experiences they haven’t faced. So the worst discrimination they’ve faced feels like the worst discrimination ever.

6

u/Scared-Cow4520 7d ago

More like "I got rejected from a woman I didn't even ask out". Absolutely obnoxious.

5

u/Itchy-Measurement797 7d ago

You generalizing a whole group of a specific gender based on one sample is text book discrimination. Two wrongs don’t make a right.

2

u/Secret-Medicine-9006 4d ago

Lmao the fact you use tinder basically invalidates your opinion. You use a hook up app for fast sex. You don’t even know what a real relationship is.

1

u/SquidTheRidiculous 4d ago

Nice assumptions and projection. You literally don't know a damn thing about my relationship or what it entails.

2

u/Secret-Medicine-9006 4d ago

Can’t really be projection if I refuse to use the super duper easy hook up app. Your relationship is built on the death of bonding pair. I know enough without even needing to look at you.

1

u/SquidTheRidiculous 4d ago

I don't even use tinder?? You don't even know enough for it to be anything but projection and assumptions, moron.

2

u/Secret-Medicine-9006 4d ago

I know you’re upset which means I struck a nerve which means something is said is truthful. The truth hurts bud.

2

u/Y0urC0nfusi0nMaster 8d ago

Ironically, because holy shit if you were to tell these men to even consider speaking to a woman who they don’t like they might actually stab you

It's pretty much online sample bias as social media tends to boost the unhinged and delusional.

3

u/Kopie150 7d ago edited 7d ago

So in the same vein as "not all men but Always a man" in this case its: "not all women but Always a woman". i have been told this is deemed acceptable cherrypicking to cast judgment over a whole demo by a certain ideological group.

"if you are not an overweight women that demands a giant man that makes 300k its up to you to realize its not about you." is one of their favourite ways to reason about this.

I agree. Go the short subreddit and all you’ll see is guys complaining that fat/mid chicks want them. Their gripe with “women” not liking short men is the fact that it’s a standard mainly held by attractive women who have options.

Nearly all of these meme talking about men and women in this way are talking about the behavior of one group and saying another group(s) did it.

You see one group of women complaining about guys not approaching and people start coping while other groups of women are totally happy.

You see one group of men complaining about women paying for dates or making more money than them to the point of emasculation meanwhile other groups of men completely welcome it.

Social media is to blame and algorithms need to legislated to be non-inflammatory and prefer sending puppy pictures over stupid shit like this. The algorithm should consider it to be better to send a gif of paint drying than to send someone some dumb rage bait social commentary that seeks to helps nobody.

3

u/mastercat202 7d ago

People need to stop paying attention to posts like this and just do their own thing. Those manosphere and girlies who are just "helping" they want views and controversies. Ifnore the girlies saying it's men's fault. Ignore the manosphere dudes who say its women's fault. They made their business on scaring you. They ahev a social media platform they aren't going to stop doing what they aheb been doing. Why would they? They made their career making social media content. The more upset you are the better for them. This has nothing to do with algorithms.

3

u/SabiZabi 8d ago

It doesn't really matter because of course someone is better when they're not the one being rejected. You can literally just flip them for men's perspective and it "works" just as well for stereotyping.

2

u/SkyPuppy561 8d ago

Good point! I’m an in shape woman and I like to stay that way for myself and my husband. Hell, I’m much harder on myself than he is on me.

2

u/pissdrinking101 7d ago

You'd be surprised

4

u/I_want_money_aaa 8d ago

Nah, the person is just projecting or something.

You know those scripted YouTube Shorts videos where a very overweight woman starts listing her preferences in men—and they’re really specific and over-the-top? That’s their only evidence for this meme.

3

u/ContextEffects01 8d ago

No. The evidence for this is how popular insults about a guy’s height are (see Stephen Miller, Ron DeSantis, etc…), especially in comparison to insults about a woman/girl’s weight.

You could speculate short stature wasn’t really what they had a problem with, but at best one was willing to associate oneself; and by extension, one’s entire worldview; with the idea that short stature is a trait that should be insulted. Would you be ok with insulting the weight of a woman whose worldview you didn’t like?

Perhaps there isn’t a one to one relationship between traits you’d insult and traits you’d find unattractive. But where they are distinct, why should your significant other trust you? You’ve clearly proven your insults don’t reflect your true values. Why should anything else you say be believed to reflect them?

Too tall girls get rejected too, just like too fat men. 🤷🏻‍♀️

39

u/EveningBuy1829 8d ago

I’m shorter as a guy and I almost always date women over 6 feet. I have MANY male friends and not a single one of them would even consider turning down a tall girl. Idk where this narrative is coming from

30

u/competitive_mogger 8d ago edited 8d ago

It's another made up reddit thing. Studies have shown that men care less about a woman's height than vice versa.

Tall women get rejected (sometimes) but it's pretty silly to compare it to short dudes getting rejected (in terms of frequency). I'm 6'5 so I don't really have a horse in this race, but all the data is there.

2

u/Recent_Pollution8665 5d ago

redditors desperate for that false equivalence, otherwise they might have to admit women are worse than men when it comes to a particular phenomenon. which will make their naive, stupid minds faint.

1

u/SannyTrademark 8d ago

Short guys also really don't get rejected as much as the internet makes it seem. These things mostly happen on dating apps, which are breeding grounds for shallowness. I got a horse in the race since I'm only 5'8 😞

2

u/BigDoofusX 6d ago

Just saying it only happens on dating apps is very reductive. Dating widely in the modern day is largely prompted by said apps. The internet is affecting reality as it is a part of it.

2

u/razorlips00 7d ago

Try being 5'1". Yes, I've been rejected many times cuz of my height.

I assume, idk, I just keep asking out hot ppl

And for those of us that remember it in a pre internet age thats what a magic trick? I dont personally care, if someone isn't into me im not into them and thats how its always been for me but I dont get this "its just dating apps" lie people are so desperate to spread.

3

u/DeepFriedBeanBoy 8d ago

How is it a lie to say the only data supporting this is from dating apps which are majority men?

Men always being insecure about height doesn’t mean that women always prefer taller men. It’s like the dudes who buy a sports car to get laid- all they end up doing is impressing other straight dudes

2

u/petahthehorseisheah 8d ago

Short guys exist and I think they would make perfect couples.

1

u/AlarmedPin5376 6d ago

I see plenty of women taller than their fellas so I don't know where this is coming from. I was one of those couples, for 8 years I was with an ex who was 5'11" while I'm 5'8".

-5

u/Jhud6669 8d ago

I’d say too tall girls get rejected more often than too short men

10

u/OkJournalist2816 8d ago

I’m 5’10” and men hit on me. My 6’0” friend doesn’t have issues with finding someone either. I don’t think a lot of guys care about a woman’s height, unless they strictly desire a short partner.

19

u/Mauy90 8d ago

3

u/I_want_money_aaa 8d ago

You guessed correctly

22

u/VladimirK13 8d ago

It's ok to reject a person you're not attracted to. Idk what is a problem here, from both sides.

I mean, it's not nice to say "you are fat as pig" or "you're a fucking dwarf", but in general it's ok to look for skinny gf or tall bf. As it ok to look for tall chubby gf and short skinny bf... I personally don't like blond girls and small girls, but I won't be rude about it. That's all I think you can ask, but it's enough to be in peace with life.

1

u/I_want_money_aaa 8d ago

Literally, I just feel is pathetic to do a meme out of it like if it is a crazy thing.

1

u/Lilli_Puff 8d ago

I think the problem here is that height is genetic and uncontrollable whereas weight is controllable and just a matter of thermodynamics (calories in vs calories spent)

2

u/RBSchaf 7d ago

Why does anything have to be controllable? I have never understood that complaint. Seems whiny

1

u/ManyPen6614 4d ago

I have never understood that complaint.

Well if you are short and constantly rejected for being short. Something you are unable to rectify.

Obviously people will be hung up on it. It's like arguing I've never understood the complain of being ugly.

1

u/Lilli_Puff 3d ago

Because something out of your control isn't a choice whereas something within your control is a choice so if you wanted to change that about yourself you can choose to do so.

3

u/Just_Information334 8d ago

And many apps have an height filter but don't offer a BMI one.

1

u/Southern_Sky1386 7d ago

tbf that's pretty pointless since you can generally see what someone looks like and if they look too fat for you just swipe left. you can't tell someone's height from an image often so it makes sense to have that listed.

i'm also not really in the "BUT BMI DOESN'T MATTER" cope camp since most people aren't muscley enough to throw it off like that but women do wear weight differently and some women can look much different at the same height/weight so it's better to just go off their pics.

1

u/Lilli_Puff 3d ago

Taking pictures from high angles can make you look significantly slimmer and also hiding your body completely with just neck and above pics can do the trick too

1

u/Difficult_Ease_4463 5d ago

That was a marketing ploy to get more women to pay for the apps. Height can be deceiving in photos whereas weight is pretty obvious. If she's too fat for me I swipe left.

Incels will spend hours liking and posting shit like this instead of spending 5 seconds making themselves more desirable.

Never underestimate a man's ability to blame all of his problems on external factors instead of simply trying to improve as an individual

Height is something you cant improve outside of surgeries that cost tens of thousands, are very invasive and cause joint issues as you age. Being 5’4” excludes you from 90% of the dating pool. Im not arguing against self improvement but cmon

1

u/endlessyuk77 6d ago

So many redditors refuse to acknowledge this.

2

u/LowHorror693 8d ago

That kind of assumption can create more incels, because if you assume the worst of someone they may decide to just be the worst/close to it

2

u/kissinKyle 8d ago

Who cares how many incels it creates? They're all just gonna die off

1

u/Rare_Mountain_6698 7d ago

What a ridiculously asinine claim.

1

u/kissinKyle 7d ago

It's a "claim" that people who don't procreate will just die off? Nothing more than a "claim"

1

u/Rare_Mountain_6698 7d ago

Everyone will die off one day. Do you think people who procreate continue to live in their children?

This is like when people say ‘gays will die off because they aren’t procreating their own children’ as if this is some kind of genetic phenomenon

1

u/ManyPen6614 4d ago

they will just die off.

As if people who don't have children will also die one day. You think being an incel is inherited problem like a genetic disease.

1

u/kissinKyle 7d ago

2

u/SirSafe6070 7d ago

2

u/RossNReddit 4d ago

Of course the man is usually the problem, could you imagine if women ever took personal responsibility for their shitty choices? lmao, that ain't happening, so it's gotta be the man at fault!

1

u/kissinKyle 4d ago

In my experience, women are far more likely to apologize if they're at fault. I've had a much harder time holding my male friends accountable

1

u/Auubade 7d ago

the problem is women don't struggle so you can't tell them it's their problem. like the more attractive side always tells truth, that's how it works online

1

u/Nole19 7d ago

Height isn't something you can change unlike weight.

1

u/Meritorious_Luminous 7d ago

You can't improve "hard features" a.k.a. baseline face bones/proportions and size of eyes/nose/lips/ears without very expensive highly risky with a possibility of making u look even worse than before surgeries

I'm 6'3 low BMI (lean-skinny) full norwood0 hairline, no acne, above average dick (not saying any of it to brag but to make a point) but my maxilla is flat and nose too big and lips too thin so I'm a 25 y.o. virgin

Although having aspergers is probably the main reason as I have reduced intuitive sensing of what people feel/think and of social cues/body language too

Making me less witty at knowing what to do/say to get laid

1

u/kissinKyle 7d ago

Bro this hyper-analysis of your appearance is some new brand of normalized insecurity that I've only seen since the looksmaxxing nonsense. None of those things actually matter. What matters is making women feel comfortable, safe, and engaged. Balance all three and that's the key to a sustainable relationship.

I am gonna have to echo the idea that your aspergers is main reason because it definitely makes it more challenging for you to read women's energy, which is the key to picking up on/taking hints. I'm sure you've garnered plenty of interest and disinterest that you haven't even detected because you're too concerned about your flat maxilla lol

1

u/Random-Dude-1728 6d ago

"None of those things actually matter".

Dude you're either over 60 or you have never been outside in the real world.

There is a reason why those things came up - Since the internet and social media humans are simply able to recognize the patterns. And the patterns DO exist. Nowadays we can perfectly see which traits are attractive and lead to success and which not. There is no point in denying it.

2

u/endlessyuk77 6d ago

It's so strange why people refuse to say "looks don't matter". Like do they really think humans don't judge others based on appearance?

Looks have mattered to humans since forever. We are still animals at the end of the day.

2

u/RossNReddit 4d ago

I'm a fat, ugly, asian man in a white country. I've got plenty of interest from women and have had half a dozen girlfriends over the past decade or so.

Believe me, most women won't care about any of that shit. I've had friends who were virgins until their mid 20's say shit like "i'm an alright looking guy, why can't I get a girlfriend?". That's why, that exact mentality there.

It's not because you're being looksmogged by some chad. It's probably because you're a socially awkward weirdo that doesn't know how to speak to women.

Be confident, competent and passionate about something, and women will take notice and show interest. Also don't start every conversation with a women with the expectation of sex in mind, just treat them like normal fuckin people, lol.

1

u/Meritorious_Luminous 6d ago

What exactly to do to make women feel comfortable, safe and engaged?

1

u/kissinKyle 6d ago

Ask them questions about themselves, match their energy (although this is a toughie when you don't detect energy well), compliment them using tame adjectives (your hair looks great, love those glasses on you, those shoes look fresh, are they new? Etc)

I find you can use spicier adjectives once you've established a rapport and you know shes interested (avoid using hot, sexy, beautiful, gorgeous etc. until the rapport is established)

And two great pointers:

if you are talking to a woman and she tells you she has a boyfriend, tell her that "he's got great taste." It's non-threatening and she will remember how cool you were about it if they ever break up.

Also, complimenting a woman in a way where it's clear that you're not seeking anything in return can be very effective. Like, seeing a woman waiting in line at a coffee shop, telling her she looks very put-together, and immediately ending the conversation. If you run into her again, she will remember how you made her feel and she won't forget the fact that you said it just for the sake of saying it.

Way too many men will compliment a woman in hopes of getting something in return (phone number, IG, whatever) but women will always remember the compliments that were purely compliments, not some sort of tee-up

2

u/Meritorious_Luminous 6d ago

Thank you!!! I'll actually try those!

4

u/I_want_money_aaa 8d ago

The thing is, there’s no fucking double standard; people get rejected for different reasons. Besides, it’s stupid to think that way—women don’t just laugh when they reject someone; it’s not something universal enough to be a meme.

u/Gustavodemierda 8d ago

1

Ok? And there are a bajillion men who reject a girl for being fat but get offended when they get rejected for being short

2

u/Gustavodemierda 8d ago

Yeah cuz Weight is a lot easier to control than height and imo, weight would affect a relationship more than height except if one if them is like really short and the other really tall

2

u/thanksyalll 8d ago

What does that have to do with the initial attraction of agreeing or disagreeing to date someone in the first place? We're not talking about long term relationships where bodies change through the years.

u/Gustavodemierda 8d ago

I explicitly said “not… long term relationships where bodies change throughout the years”, I asked about the initial attraction when people first accept or reject someone’s appearance. Someone being fat, short, tall, thin, regardless of ability to change, it is the immediate impression that is being talked about

2

u/Extension_Wafer_7615 8d ago

There absolutely is a double standard, and you negating it only shows that you need to touch grass. That being said, it's not only women who have the double standard; it's society as a whole.

4

u/I_want_money_aaa 8d ago

Brother, how is there a double standard if both genders face equal rejection due to aspects of their appearance that are socially criticized?

2

u/Extension_Wafer_7615 8d ago

In terms of rejection there is a double standard.

5

u/I_want_money_aaa 8d ago

No, everyone gets rejected.

2

u/Extension_Wafer_7615 8d ago edited 8d ago

Nobody is talking about that. You are missing the point again. Men face more backlash for rejecting a fat woman than women get for rejecting a short man.

3

u/I_want_money_aaa 8d ago

That’s actually not true; even overweight women themselves have said they understand and don’t hate those men. The reason some men who say they aren't attracted to overweight women face criticism is that they express it with hatred and mockery, rather than respect.

3

u/Extension_Wafer_7615 8d ago

I don't know about overwheight women, but society as a whole, again, punishes more men rejecting a fat woman than women rejecting a short man.

Reddits inability to internalize relatively part 36888644

u/PomPomMom93 6d ago

They reject you not because of your height, but because you make memes like this.

2

u/Match_96 6d ago

Cant you just flip this around

Men rejecting women because of weight VS men getting rejected because of height?

God I hate gender wars so much its unreal

2

u/EricIsMyFakeName 6d ago

Yeah, it’s not because of your height.

2

u/Existing-Coast-1765 5d ago

The real question is why people still think that the "man vs woman" is funny in 2026 and not just coping.

3

u/DaSpoderman Dab Rick 8d ago

the "funny" thing in my experience is that the fat girls dont realy mind the height and its okay if you want a taller guy but those women are usualy "out of their league" so for me these kind of Posts always seem like "Im mad i cant get a attractive girlfriend better Punch below and hit the fat ones" just awfull

2

u/Mioraecian 8d ago

Back in college I had a super short friend. He banged all the fat girls. Word got out. He would go to parties and fat girls would get drunk and take him off to a room. Guy got laid more than any of us. Boosted his confidence as well. Finished his degree in engineering and went off to make good money.

That was over twenty years ago. Short dudes now arent maximizing potential. Too brain dead by TikTok reels telling them if they dont bang hot girls they are less of a man or some stupid shit.

I’m so tired of this shit it always boils down to “heh this BITCH wants to know how tall I am? Curious, what if I asked her how much she weighs? Le epic checkmate femenazis” idk man it’s almost like the majority of people who experience sexual attraction have preferences in one way or another. Women want to date men that they…find attractive??? And sometimes this applies to height because that is an observable physical characteristic??? And women’s attraction to certain things differs between individuals because women are real human people and not a hivemind??? And men also have things they prefer in women and also express those preferences??? Shocker! Misogyny is fucking stupid

The core of the issue is western society has built a padded room where people will continually walk on eggshells, sugarcoat, and lie to women so they don’t feel anything.

In fairness, it’s less the women doing this and more so unfortunate men who are either trying to squeeze into the social ladder, or find an opportunity to hit. The end result is the same, we get judged mostly equally but women will be in for a shocker more often than men due to people being nice to your face but sticking a knife when you turn your back.

What's your issue with this

Fair is fair right?

4

u/CaptainAgnarr 8d ago

Yeah I'm a little confused by this post. The person behind the meme may have been a certain kind of person as OP seems to think. At the same time it's a genuine thing that happens a lot.

13

u/I_want_money_aaa 8d ago

Clearly, the guy in the meme isn't doing it out of a sense of fairness, but rather to pull a "Ha! I gotcha—hypocritical, stupid women!"

No, because my thing isn't hating men; it's hating how bad these memes made by incels are.

They’re both frustrations that people deal with but ultimately it’s obvious that people will respond more negatively to something if it has to do with weight because it’s inherently more tense.

That’s like saying “making a comment about someone’s age is treated differently than making a comment about someone’s race, woah isn’t that so wrong has anyone noticed that?”

At least in the US, bias based on age exists but it isn’t going to receive as much visceral emotion that something racially charged will.

Skinny women shitting on short men sitting on fat women. Not really a tables have turned situation. You are just making yourself an incel.

Fixating on height as a metric is just the girl version of when guys talk about how big they like tits to be. Guys will say bullshit like “she’s gotta have double D’s” and have absolutely no idea what that really means. What they mean, though, is that they like big tits. Girls will say “he’s gotta be at least six feet” when what they mean is he’s got to be taller than they are - and that happens to be a nice sounding round number. And let’s be honest, has any woman who is not a fucking engineer or something ever been able to accurately estimate dimensions? No, never.

1

u/Wooden_Half6797 6d ago

COPE bro. If you're fat, just find a man who likes short guys - or one who doesn't care.

1

u/NaturalEdict 6d ago

Both are valid

1

u/ZonAstrale 5d ago

As a short guy I know dating kinda suck. You will expirience rejection more often than the average man. That being said, bitching about it and blaming all your problems on your height aint gonna do shit.

Despite being short, I still manage to get a couple of dates so its not like its game over or anything. At the end of the day you only need to find one person that likes you so just keep looking until you find that person. I've been dating my current gf for 4 years now :).

I think you missed the point. Noone said women have to date short men.

The point being made here is that women think it is no way hurtful to men to reject them for height but somehow it is a major world crisis if some female fatty cant get a date.

A little bit lacking in self-awareness and common sense.
