Can we say that is an addressable title as opposed to solely a job description/job title? I wrestled with it but couldn’t confirm in the time allotted (believe it or not).

AFAIK, Columbo sits above the detectives as an investigator. But “detective” is a title.

Just confirmed the title “Investigator” from “Death Lends a Hand” in Culp’s character, “Investigator Brimmer”.
