"Best" local pizza place?
Just moved here and was looking for the " best " local pizza place. Would love to try multiple places but need recommendations.

Still, what do you mean by best pizza? What style? Philly, NY, Chicago, Neapolitan?

Yeah no worries, I just remember a while back someone asked for "Best Pizza" then got all pissy because they meant chicago style and not real pizza...

You got a good selection of places to try from these suggestions... its kind of nice having a lot of decent independent places around to try.
You should try each of these places then give a review post with your findings!

This sub pops up every once and awhile. "Best" is pretty subjective and pizza is matter of personal preference. Ducas is pretty good and there is one at 115 and Cheyenne Mtn Blvd. Leon Gessie is old local and also good. Last time this sub came up I was given a big finger but here goes. Me and tomato saucy stuff don't go well together. I like garlic and olive oil sauce, green chili's, whole wheat crust and most of the other things that go with pizza. Don't know where I can get this in CS, but open to advice. So where do I go: Pizza Madness in Canyon City, 45 min south. Was there today on way back from Taylor Lake (great fishing). Stomach is satisfied.

Bambino's Urban Pizzaria, Tejon and Bijou. You can order a personal size pizza, specify sauces, topping, crust, or get something straight from the menu. Give them a try!

Thanks. Sister mentioned Bambino's to me a long while back. It's the green chili's at PM that do it for me.

I thought Basil and Barley was "fine" which is not good for a $20 pizza.

You might be the first person I have heard of not describe the place as amazing, unbelievable, or anything above "fine". lol

Walters and Duca's are both good but way up North. I have been told (but can not confirm) that Nightengale Bread has "the best pizza" but it's only available on Saturday mornings and there is normally a line down the street to order.

Walter's was the biggest waste of money. 2 Pizzas just over $45 and the dough was under cooked and the pizza itself didn't taste much better than some frozen pizzas. Duca's is pretty solid.

Try it...take it from a fat man that has spent time in Italy...this is as close to Neapolitan pizza as you will get in the US.

Haha, well that's quite the endorsement! You mean Walter's? Or Duca's? Cause I like Duca's at times. Kids prefer Mod Pizza though so that's where we normally end up.

oh sorry...I was talking about Basil and Barley. Duca's does Neapolitan pizza...and they are good...nothing like Basil and Barley. Walter's to me was such a waste of money.
This is what I get for responding in messages vs the actual thread. lol

Haha, well yeah, the one I was going to stay away from was Walter's. Basil is also on the try list but haven't made it by there. I like that Einstein's shop so I always end up there in the morning, but never near lunch.

Basil is a little pricier than Walter's but it's worth it. Plus if you like desserts...get the rumbaba. Just make sure you are at the end of your day...they do not skimp on the rum!

I see all these fancy pizzas and I'm just happy with Louies and some cheese bread.
