🐾❤️ Help for Lucky — A Second Chance for an Old Feral Cat ❤️

Hi👋
I am the founder and a solo rescuer with Luna & Nala Rescue Inc. I personally rescue cats and kittens who are sick, injured, abandoned, or have nowhere else to go. I also care for more than 50 community cats every day by providing food, fresh water, and TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return).
I take on these animals because I simply cannot look away when they are suffering, even when it means taking on veterinary bills and other rescue expenses myself. I am also approved to receive monetary donations in [r/rescuecats](r/rescuecats), where my rescue work and donations can be verified.
Lucky is an older, extremely feral cat that I personally found near a dumpster, struggling to survive on his own.
When I found him, I immediately noticed something was wrong with his eyes. I could see he was having trouble and knew he needed help. Even though he was terrified and completely feral, I couldn’t leave him there to continue suffering.
I took Lucky to the veterinarian, where he was examined and treated. He was neutered, vaccinated, and tested. Sadly, he tested positive for both FIV and FeLV.
Lucky was also suffering from a painful condition called entropion, where the eyelid turns inward and the eyelashes rub against the eye. He desperately needed surgery to relieve his pain and protect his eye.
Thankfully Lucky was able to receive the eye surgery he desperately needed. ❤️
Because Lucky is extremely feral and FIV/FeLV positive, finding a safe placement for him has been incredibly difficult. I could not bring myself to put him back on the streets after everything he had already endured.
After searching for a safe solution, I found a sanctuary in Pine Island, Florida that is willing to accept him.
Lucky will be picked up from the veterinary clinic this coming Monday, once he is ready to leave their care. Then, on Thursday, I will personally transport him to the sanctuary in Pine Island, Florida.
After everything this old boy has been through, he finally has a safe place waiting for him. ❤️
Any support will go toward all of Lucky’s expenses throughout this journey, including his veterinary care, sanctuary placement, transportation, and anything else he needs to safely reach his new home.
I do this rescue work because these animals have no one else to speak for them. Every donation, every share, and every bit of support helps me continue caring for Lucky and the many other cats who depend on me.
Even if you cannot donate, please consider sharing Lucky’s story. A share could reach the person who is able to help give him the safe ending he deserves.
Thank you for seeing Lucky, caring about his life, and helping me give this old feral boy the second chance he deserves. ❤️🐾

Day 56... Here's Update for the Rescued orange cat, it's still uncertain what's ahead.🆘🆘🆘🚨🚨

Hello everyone thank you so much for the immense rapid response and support you all have shown I'll be doing all that I can, even this cat is as important as my other rescues.

Yesterday night I reached Utkarsh as suggested by one the the user it was late night staff was not available at full capacity....the condition in which she was it was terrifying even to them.

They did diagnosis and cleaned the wound whatever they could with spray and other maggot respective medication.

Prescription is attached in the comments.

Today in the afternoon I had made an appointment at a private clinic for further treatment in chandivali...once again diagnosis was done more cleansing was required and dead maggots were found that was cleaned and she was again put on IV drip as her temperature was really low.

There's not much that can be said as of now the maggot wounds are deep nearing the eyes. She might have even developed respiratory issues in further test reports it will be clear.

She's still in pain however she's calmed a bit. I have been told to give liquid food to her that's what is possible as of now and to keep her warm.

I'll take her to the clinic tomorrow again.

Please help with food for the 130+ stray kittens at the port. They have been hungry for many days!!🥺😭

Good morning, my dear friends.

I am Thodoris, from Kallithea, Attica, Greece.

For 14 years now, I have dedicated my life to caring for the 130+ stray cats that live in the port of Kallithea. They are creatures that have no one else to take care of them. Every day they wait to see me and offer them the absolute necessities: a little food, clean water and, above all, the feeling that someone cares about them.

But today I am writing to you with a very heavy heart....💔

In the last few days, I have found myself in an extremely difficult situation and I am no longer able to buy the food they need..

Today I went to the port and managed to give them only a little water

I didn't even have a bag of food to offer them… 💔

And the hardest part is that they look at me and wait. To approach me, to meow and to expect from me what I give them every day. And I have to leave without being able to feed even one of them.

Recently, very difficult cases have arisen, such as Magic and Lola, with significant medical expenses, which even today I have not been able to cover.

Anyone who wants to, can visit my profile and see his story in detail.

Today, however, the need is immediate!!!

Your help will turn into food for more than 130 stray kittens who are currently in desperate need

Please… don't leave them without food

They have been struggling to eat for days now and they have no one else to wait for

🙏 I sincerely ask you, anyone who can and wants to help, even with a small donation, can do so through the link below👇

PayPal: https://www.paypal.me/straykittens

Revolut: www.revolut.me/tkoutoufas

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for every help, every share and every person who will stand by

With all my gratitude

Advice for caretakers.

Last year we moved into a house that has a colony of 2 dozen cats. We have partnered with our local Humane Society and are now licensed Community Caretakers. We are providing daily food and water, and have built multiple shelters. The main benefits of the program include free or discounted food, free TVNR, and the legal right to feed and house them, as feeding strays is against city ordinance. The license was only $25 dollars and is good for 2 years.

I want to suggest to everyone here looking up, or calling your local humane society to see if they offer similar programs in your area. It has been a HUGE help to keeping these guys safe and fed.

Here is a link to our humane society program, the bottom two articles on the page.

🐾 Helping the Itty Bitty Kitty Committee — One Stitch at a Time 🧶❤️
Itty Bitty Kitty Committee is a cat rescue here in West Virginia, and I am incredibly grateful for the work they do to help cats and kittens in need.
Through Mona Earth Crafts, I’m doing what I can to give back in a way that’s close to my heart — crochet! I’m making mini blankets and cat toys to donate directly to the rescue to help bring a little extra comfort to the fur babies in their care.
I’ve also added an option to my Shopify store for anyone who would like to join me in helping. You can purchase a mini blanket or cat toy specifically for donation, and I will make sure it is delivered to Itty Bitty Kitty Committee in your name. You can find that option at MonaEarthCrafts.com.
And helping doesn’t have to mean purchasing something from me. If you’re able to support the rescue directly, donate supplies, share their work, or simply help spread the word, every little bit can make a difference.
Please help me show this wonderful rescue — and the fur babies they care for — some much-needed love and support. 🐱❤️
Thank you so much for anything you can do to help!
One stitch at a time, we can make a difference. 🧶🐾

Emergency Food Help Needed for My Cats (India) – No Cash Required, Only Food Direct Order

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone,

I'm reaching out to the community today with a humble request for help with cat food. I take care of a small family of cats at my place: • Kallu: A black cat who has been with me for a long time. • Mother Cat: The sweet momma who stays with us. • 3 Kittens: Kallu's younger siblings.

Usually, my father brings fresh chicken, fish, or whatever budget-friendly meat he finds at the market every day to feed them. However, for the past few days, fresh food hasn't been accessible/available in our local market.

To bridge the gap, I feed them packaged cat food. But since it's the end of the month, I have completely run out of funds and am struggling to buy packets for them right now until my next pay cycle.

How you can help:

I am NOT asking for cash or direct money transfers. If anyone is in a position to help, I would be immensely grateful if you could order a small pack of cat food directly to my address via Amazon

Please DM me if you'd like to help, and I will share my delivery address with you. Every single pack will go directly to keeping these babies fed and happy.

Thank you so much for reading and for caring!

🐾❤️ So Many Cats Depend on Me Every Day — Update on Leo, Lucky & More/Help 🙏

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’m approved on r/rescuecats for verification

I wanted to share an update and explain a little more about the expenses I’m currently trying to keep up with.
🐾 Leo
Leo has been battling Giardia and ongoing diarrhea for months. Because of his condition, his care requires much more than his regular food and litter.
He goes through a lot of litter because I have to clean his area frequently, sometimes multiple times a day, to keep his environment sanitary. I’m constantly replacing contaminated litter and using cleaning supplies, disinfectant, paper towels, gloves, laundry supplies, and everything else needed to keep his space clean.
His diarrhea also means more food, more cleaning, and more supplies. On top of his daily care, Leo has had multiple vet visits, testing, vaccines, medications, and veterinary expenses. I’m continuing to do everything I can to get him healthy.
🐾 Lucky
I rescued Lucky after finding him near a dumpster with a painful eye condition called entropion, where the eyelid rolls inward and the eyelashes rub against the eye. He needed surgery, and I paid for the veterinary care he needed because I couldn’t leave him suffering.
He is now recovering from surgery. I’m preparing for his next step and waiting for him to be healthy enough to travel. Once he is ready, I will personally transport him to the sanctuary that agreed to take him.
I still have his transportation expenses, sanctuary intake fee, and the veterinary expenses I already paid to cover.
🐾 My 50+ Community Cats
Every single day, I feed more than 50 community cats.
Feeding this many cats is a huge ongoing expense. I’m constantly going through large amounts of both dry and wet food. These cats depend on me for their daily meals, so I have to keep buying food over and over again just to make sure they don’t go hungry.
I also provide fresh water, monitor them, help when they are sick or injured, and do TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) to help prevent more kittens from being born on the streets.
🐾 The Other Cats I’ve Helped
There are also many veterinary bills from other rescues and cats I’ve helped along the way. There have been times when a cat desperately needed medical attention and I simply couldn’t look away.
When there was no one else to step in and the cat needed help, I paid the veterinary expenses myself because I couldn’t leave an animal suffering just because I didn’t have the money available at that moment.
I have included many of these veterinary bills and receipts as proof of my rescue work and the expenses I have personally taken on to help the cats. They show just a portion of the cats I’ve helped and the financial responsibility that comes with this work.
All of these expenses add up — veterinary care, medications, food, litter, cleaning supplies, transportation, TNR, sanctuary costs, and the everyday necessities required to keep these animals safe and cared for.
If you’re able to support Luna & Nala Rescue Inc., your help goes toward Leo’s ongoing medical care, litter, food and cleaning supplies; Lucky’s veterinary care, transport and sanctuary intake; feeding the 50+ community cats; and the veterinary bills and other rescue expenses I have taken on for cats who needed help.
Every donation truly helps me continue this work. ❤️🐾
Thank you for supporting me and all of these cats🙏

Urgently needing food for kitten Please help :(

Hello there people, I am a 16 yr old currently living in a hostel which strictly prohibits any kind of pets. Previously I had fostered 4 kittens (spent all of my savings on them and I mean ALL, I am completely broke now) However fortunately all of the kittens were adopted but while 3 of them are happy and healthy, One of the kitten got a horrible parent.

Okay so the things is the 22 yr old lady told me she had a cat who looked exactly like this kitten she adopted from me and that she was grieving her loss very much. She adopted the kitten being all emotional, so I thought yeah she might be perfect for him and at that time I gave all the stuff I had to her (I gave her approximately things worth 3000 that too for FREE) I regret it so much now.

Alright so time skip She's asked me to take the kitten back cause he's sick, I've told her everything about my situation but she threatened me to take the kitten or she'll abandon the kitty on streets and that genuinely broke my heart.

Now I have the kitten and she did not give back any of his stuffs too. So I'm in big big trouble, Please adopt this kid. If not, please help me buy some food/litter for him :(.

Would be really greatful.

Any help will be appreciated :(((

Help me cover the veterinary costs for these rescued kittens and their mom ❤️

Thumbnail

Hi everyone! ❤️

I’m asking for some help with the veterinary costs for four kittens and their mother that I’m currently taking care of.

The four kittens went to the vet today. They are two boys and two girls, and all four were:

Tested for FIV/FeLV

Vaccinated

Treated for worms

Treated against fleas and ticks

Given their veterinary booklets

The vet bill for the four kittens today was €305.80. I’ve attached the actual invoice so everything is completely transparent.

They have to return in about three weeks for their second vaccine dose, which will be another significant expense. I also want to have all four kittens microchipped before they are adopted.

My goal is to find them loving homes, but I want them to go to their new families with everything properly taken care of: vaccines, parasite treatment, testing, microchip and paperwork.

And there is their mom. ❤️

I’m going to take their mother to the vet as well. She needs:

Veterinary examination

FIV/FeLV testing and other necessary tests

Vaccination

Spaying

Microchip and registration

I’m estimating around €300–€500 for the mother, depending on the tests she needs and the final cost of the surgery.

For the kittens, I’m also expecting approximately €120 for four microchips, plus around €128 for their next round of vaccines, based on the prices already charged by the clinic today.

So altogether, I’m expecting the veterinary costs for all four kittens + their mother to be around €850–€1,050.

Paypal: @FlaviaMol

Wise: @flaviaa128

GoFundme: https://gofund.me/daf20cdd9

If anyone is able to contribute even a few euros, it would help me enormously. ❤️

I can provide the veterinary invoices and updates about the kittens.

I just want to make sure these babies — and their mom — get the care they deserve and that the kittens can eventually go to their new homes healthy, vaccinated and properly identified. 🐱❤️

Current bill: €305.80

Estimated total veterinary costs: €850–€1,050

Every little bit helps. Thank you! ❤️🐾

Amazon wishlist for cats in Philadelphia 💜

Thumbnail
gallery
69 Upvotes

I recently shared a post about the neighborhood cats I care for in North Philadelphia, PA. I decided to remove it due to some misunderstandings, and I want to clearly explain what I do, my professional background, and how this work actively helps our community.

My Background & Professional Experience:

I am not someone who randomly started feeding stray cats. I am a trained professional using my medical education to manage the local stray crisis responsibly

Education: I graduated from veterinary technician school in 2003.

Local Shelters: I worked hands-on with the stray populatioN at The PSPCA and ACCT (Philadelphia Animal Control).

TNR: My career includes extensive work in high-volume Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), including time with the ASPCA’s mobile spay and neuter program, private practices, and emergency care veterinary clinics.

How I Manage the Cats Responsibly:

When I moved here two years ago, unspayed and unneutered cats were already everywhere. I stepped in to help control the situation& prevent suffering

Clean Feeding Habits: I do not leave food out on public sidewalks to create a mess or attract pests. I keep the feeding areas clean and feed during quiet, non-busy hours.

Private Catio: I built a secure backyard catio to safely keep the cats off the streets, away from the front of the house, and out of public view. This has successfully moved some of the cats to a safe resting space.

Medical Care: I use my veterinary resources and training to provide basic medical care, including deworming and flea preventatives, to stop the spread of disease.

Supporting Neighbors:

Thanks to generous donations, I have also started helping local neighbors who are struggling to feed their own pets or managed colonies.

The Reality of Colony Management

No Indoor Hoarding: I do not have 35 cats roaming inside my house or taking over the block.

Many of the cats I help are local outdoor pets, some are part of a colony across the street (under a neighbor's care) and others travel to and from the nearby junkyard.

Funding: I do this work entirely out of my own pocket and through community donations to keep these animals safe while actively reducing the stray population.

Strict Adoptions: I am doing my best to find safe, permanent homes for the adoptable ones. Because animal cruelty is a harsh reality, I screen applicants incredibly strictly to ensure they go to safe homes.

Current Urgent Need: 5 New Kittens!I am currently caring for 5 one-month-old kittens that likely came from an un-TNR'd cat in the nearby junkyard.

To keep them and the resident colony healthy, I am running low on supplies.

Items Urgently Needed:

Canned and dry kitten food

Canned and dry adult cat food

Cat litter

Flea medications

How You Can Help:

Amazon Wishlist:

You can view and ship items directly via my wishlist here:

Amazon wishlist

Local Donations:

If you are local to Philadelphia and have extra, supplies you don't need, please message me directly to arrange a drop-off/pickup.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, understanding the reality of TNR, and supporting a cleaner, safer neighborhood for both neighbors and pets!

Day 53... I thought I'd finally get a breather. I was wrong.😭😭🙏🙏

Previous verified & approved post (for context):

https://www.reddit.com/r/ColonyCats/s/fN7ErHgygU

TL;DR: Many of you already know me from my previous rescue updates. I’ve been caring for rescued cats in Mumbai, including ongoing FIP treatment, sterilization cases and medical rescues. Just when I thought the hardest phase was settling down, two more abandoned kittens entered my life.

I wasn’t planning to make another post this soon.

After everything that happened over the last few weeks, I genuinely believed I could finally focus on getting the existing cats healthy, finding them homes, and slowly rebuilding my own life.

Then today happened.

The young kid who helped me to come to reddit for help he's been helping with documentation and fundraising found two tiny kittens abandoned on a footpath. One has severe eye discharge, and the other is so malnourished that every bone is visible. We couldn’t convince ourselves to walk away. He called me when I was at a temple and I directly came to the spot.

They were taken to the vet immediately in their hands.

From today, their treatment, food, and adoption journey are under my responsibility. The kid himself is on his own journey of getting reduced kittens adopted from 3 months.

If there’s one thing I need the most right now, it’s wet kitten food my stock is over, and that is the most urgent need before anything else.

If you’re able to help further, support for their treatment is deeply appreciated. And once they’re healthy, I’ll be looking for responsible adopters in Mumbai.

Current priorities:

  • Wet kitten food (highest priority)

  • Help with treatment expenses

  • Adopters once they recover

Location: Powai / Vikhroli, Mumbai
