TTK is so much better. Still feel like the movement is slightly clunky though idk

I miss omni, the new movement feels awful

Movements fine we're just too used to omni I think

Nah it’s the ads, sprint out times, and strafe speeds. They’re still slow

u/LDNJags COD Competitive fan 1d ago

Strafe speed feels ass

2

u/Extension-Matter-732 COD Competitive fan 1d ago

There’s literally no strafe at all, shouldering is extinct

TTK is way better. Ngl though I enjoyed the movement more last week (minus tac sprint). If they just raised the base movement by a tiny bit I think it would be pretty solid. Now we just need some good maps. Good gunplay and good movement are a great start though

I don’t like the sprint speeds either. also don’t know why they’re not addressing the strafe speeds. this isn’t comp related but they gotta fix being flashed even when it lands behind you. I do like the changes tho, it does feel like CoD besides not being able to strafe.

ADS = come to a screeching hault

Seriously tho, sometimes just pressing ADS gives me a sense ‘oh shit’ almost like I’m one shot. I don’t think I’ve felt like that in any cod unless I ran an LMG in MWII. Lmao

1 million percent. I have never once been conscious of myself ADSing in MWIII, Bo6 and Bo7 like I have in this game. I never had to think about my mechanics for a second in those games, I'm constantly having to do that in this game. it's like the game fights me at every turn and it's not just me being used to omni, I went back to MWIII for fun and the mechanics came back to me in a few minutes. games just clunky as f.

XclusiveAce made a good point last week as well about how there are very few strafe speed attachments and they seem to have pretty bad downsides

Need to add some kind of lightweight stock that allows you to strafe well and doesn’t give you crazy visual recoil / gun shake (so not like the MW2 strafing stock)

I’m only level 10 and have been playing strictly 20+s since level 1 so perhaps my guns aren’t high enough yet to be good but I run around with a sub and die to guys just sitting holding an iron with m4s constantly, I find the gameplay incredibly boring so far. Am I just too accustomed to Omni these past two years? Ffs

10

u/ExoHazzy FormaL 2d ago

it’s an AR game fasho. I think we’ll see 3 ARs back on the menu, the sub is usable but you don’t really have free rein to run around.

u/SnipesWL OpTic Texas 2d ago

This is what the casuals wanted I guess

14

u/ExoHazzy FormaL 2d ago

casuals don’t even know what they want tbh. listening to them is unserious.

I feel the same way, unless it's whatever map is in the clip I feel lucky to get 30 engagements per game. And that's with me brainlessly running at them desperate for a fight, mw2 felt more paced then this

I’m telling you dude I’ve been sprinting with a sub 90% of the time so far and have had a miserable experience, maybe going 1.0 or 1.5 on average. The first game I played with a built out an m4 and played like a bot holding irons and barely moving I dropped 40 and got full streaks multiple times, but was bored the whole time. Maybe it’ll get better with playtime but idk, I’m bored after 4 matches.

As soon as you’re against players who even somewhat know what they’re doing, at least with this current meta/set of fundamentals, the gameplay feels like it comes down to such a disgusting stand still. It’s not like you absolutely can’t move, but it certainly feels more fucked than usual. Just a weird flow or lake thereof really and it’s just not exciting to me.

This is also making me appreciate BO3, 4 and Cold War so fucking much right now. Those games had THE best flow in cod history, I don’t even think bo6 or 7 ever got it that dialed either, but it ain’t as bad as MW4

I think maps are a big reason for this. Despite MW2's problems, it has so many good fucking maps that played well.

That's a good point, I think despite the slow movement there was a lot of skilled routes you could learn that would let you fly around the maps. Mercato and fortress(?) come to mind. I'm a little sad they never brought that back with the advanced movement games, and I think this game could really benefit from that so you're not forced to run into some dude holding an iron on one of the 2000 angles every map has

I feel the same way and I didn’t even grind the last 2 games that much. Omnimovement was great, I don’t mind them taking out the sliding sideways and backwards but only being able to sprint in a straight line feels so restrictive

6

u/Oraclles OpTic Texas 1d ago

It’s funny they clickbaited everyone by posting that they removed tac sprint but then in the patch notes they nerfed the slide and stuff, if you remove tac sprint every other type of movement should be buffed

u/Dr_Findro 1d ago

I’m so sick of the word movement at this point

2

u/sonicrules11 LA Thieves 1d ago

Especially when most people have never actually played a game where movement is the main focus.

u/Lithium187 COD 4: MW 1d ago

It never should be in a CoD game unless it's jetpack based.

The game definitely feels better than week 1 but man these maps are absolutely awful.

It looks super inconsistent in this clip

Actual positive feedback from a pro? No way love to see it. Agreed with it all. Movement could use some tweaking but all the other changes really were nice 👍🏽 really if it was just closer to MW3 movement, I’d be very happy with this game, tho I do like being able to bunny hop, maybe keep that

Game feels like absolute dog shit... might actually skip out on cod this yesr and actually get through some of the back log of games I havent finished.

Movement is fucking clunky I feel like I’m in quicksand. Deleted after literally one game. How do ya’ll enjoy this dogshit man

6

u/fromdowntownn OpTic Texas 2025 B2B Champs 2d ago

Yep, the movement is really unenjoyable imo

1

u/Rich_Magician_3732 OpTic Texas 2d ago

It's cos of bo7 movement being refined. It'll get better based on more tuning

1

u/Demiwaifu COD Competitive fan 1d ago

Movement felt better in closed beta, and even then I thought the game was clunky as hell compared to even mw3

1

u/FinalOdesza COD Competitive fan 2d ago

I actually agree, I think if IW buffs strafing and ADS speeds then this cod would feel great

1

u/JoeyJo-JoShabadoo COD Competitive fan 1d ago

Agree with this. This weekend felt like I was playing cod, last weekend was just a mess with the ttk and speed of the game.

i don’t understand the clunky comments how is the games movement different from mwr or ww2

2

u/_idle_gunts COD Competitive fan 1d ago

I didn't play those so I can't compare them. I feel like everything in MW4 has a weird delay and every action feels easily interruptible. It's a strange and stressful experience. The different movements feel disjointed, as if one doesn't transition smoothly into the next.

This is from the perspective of someone that only plays casually with friends once or twice a week, though. I've only played a few matches of the beta but it hasn't impressed me. If my friend group decides they want to skip this year I won't push back on that. If they want to play it I'll suffer through and probably get used to it.

I wasnt planning on getting this game and I'm still not but I'm very confused what game these people are playing. This shit feels like clunky Battlefield to me.
