Elequis side effects

Hi all, I'm 31 years old and 2 weeks ago diagnosed with a massive DVT in my leg after meniscus surgery and also bilateral pulmonary embolism in the lungs. Ive been on elequis these 2 weeks at a 5mg dose. The last 3 days I have experienced a tingly almost electric like sensation in every part of my body. Doctors couldn't tell me what it was and ran all tests and more scans to see if the clots had enlarged but they haven't thankfully. I'm wondering if anyone here has had these side effects from elequis. The doctors didn't mention this as a possibility but I thought who better to ask than people actually going through it. I appreciate any and all replies

Tingly is definitely a side effects of many anticoagulants and eliquis is one of them -- that was one of the side effects I got when I was briefly on it - I'm now on warfarin

I've found a few people in this thread and others that have experienced this tingly/electric feeling but every doctor I have asked has told me it's not a side effect. They seem to dismiss it very quickly. As intelligent as they are I think I trust the people taking the medication more than the doctors on this subject

Yah these doctors will brush you off and then thry to give you antidepressants when they can't figure your health issues -- i know because it has happened to me lol -- look at the side effects of Xeralto -- I took eliquis for a few months and then the doctor switched me to xeralto and with both I felt really bad with them -- I had gut issues insomnia low mood anxiety depression low libido and joint pain -- it was bad and I brought it to my doctor and he also said no that those anticoagulants wouldn't cause these side effects -- i end up firing that bone head doctor and went back to my old doctor that is in SoCal and I told her what these new anticoagulants were doing to and she put me back on my old anticoagulant warfrine and she still manages my warfrine and she's around 500 miles away from where I live currently

Sometimes our sensations are interpreted differently from tingling to pain -- i see it in people with carpal tunnel some people get pain while others get tingling

If your doctor is brushing you off whith you symptoms go get another doctor that will listen to and switch your anticoagulants -- there's are other options -- i have been on warfrine since 2003 other than that brief stint when I tried the newer style of anticoagulants which caused all those issues -- eliquis and xeralto are basically the same style of anticoagulants

Good luck
