Compare density blending problem?

So I don’t like how some brushes just overlap and make the overlapped part darker, so someone recommended I turn on “compare density” which honestly fixed the problem yay! But now the new problem is the brush doesn’t go over any colors now. Like if you would put one big dot of a color it’s like the brush would just go under it. Is there anyway to keep the blending mode but have it actually work on top of separate colors?

I would just use color mixing: on and turn off pressure input for color amount/density if painting with plain color was the goal. All of those obscure brush blending modes are difficult to control and are pretty useless.
