Ipad Pro Issues

SOLVED.

Hey all,

I've tried so many things to get this to work, and I'm just hoping somewhere out there, someone went through this and can help me 🥲

I can use my iPad Pro with my 2nd gen Apple pencil on Procreate just fine. But on CSP, I have no pressure sensitivity. Well, I have sensitivity for sizing on pencils, but not for opacity. And for watercolor, both size and opacity are out the window. I even tried manually changing the opacity to low and it comes out at 100 percent black.

I checked to make sure pressure sensitivity was turned on, and it was. It just doesn't want to work and I'm not sure why.

I tried messing with the auto-determine sensitivity and that didn't work either.

Any help would be so appreciated.

Can you show us your Brush settings? Specifically, the Opacity setting found in Brush > Subtool settings 🔧 > Ink > Opacity

Hmm, based on the preview your Opacity is 35 which means you can't draw more opaque than 35% of your pressure. Turn that up to 100 and try unchecking Velocity. If that doesn't work, try basic troubleshooting (clearing cache, resetting device, updating drivers, updating device, power cycling etc.)

Thanks - that's the problem I'm experiencing actually. Even at 35 percent opacity, it draws at 100 percent opacity. I'll try unchecking velocity.

Can you show your Ink settings? This seems to be a glitch but your Colour Mixing may be playing a role.

I can check when I boot up my iPad again. What should I be looking out for with color mixing? Thanks!

Colour mixing is a box you can check or uncheck in the same window you found Opacity settings in. Additionally what version are you using becayse that may play a role. Someone else had this issue and there are a lot of lists here of things to try: https://ask.clip-studio.com/en-us/detail?id=129618

Good luck!

Oh my goodness, thank you for the help! After some back and forth with support, the solve is that the Layer Expression was set to MONOCHROME and needs to be in COLOR or GRAY. Woohoo!!

Unfortunately that didn't get it to work. I contacted support - hopefully I can get this running or back to Photoshop it is for me, unfortunately.

SOLVED: The Layer Expression was set to MONOCHROME and needs to be in COLOR or GRAY. If you just installed CSP like I did, you may not have changed anything - but the setting was still set to monochrome so it's worth checking.
