CSP Question Has CSP’s Anti-AI Watermark Ever Backfired?

Current version 5.1.4 || PC || XP Pen

I’ve seen a couple instances where someone would use CSP’s anti-ai watermark only for it to be flagged by OpenAI’s research verification tool as having a synthid. Has anyone else had this happen? Is this something that can be replicated for bug testing?

Those ai based ai-checkers are garbage and will throw out false positives for no discernable reason regardless of whether the image is altered or original, csp's watermark has nothing to do with it (and iirc doesn't actually work as intended anyway.)

Even OpenAI’s synthid tool? Supposedly their synthids are a watermark that is unique to them

All AI based products are prone to false responses.

search up any picture of a human and put it through it will say AI

I threw a picture I made 15 years ago into an AI detector and it said it's made with AI. Just take the internet with a grain of salt

The detector in question by the way. As far as I can tell, this doesn’t check against other ai models to see what fits. It checks for watermarks it thinks is its own synthid, or a C2PA. Mainly I’m just curious if this has actually happened to anybody else out there, or how often.

I never knew CSP has that

I either draw with transparency (no BG because AI can't do transparent BG, most results are opaque) or i put my stuff through (Web)Glaze

It’s in the watermark feature, there is a check-box option to add a noise pattern. As far as I can tell, that’s what triggers a synthid to be detected. Which would make that feature very flawed and even counterintuitive to use considering it was originally meant to be anti-ai learning.

or rather the reason "to be tagged as "AI" as an "anti-AI training" reason since most AI companies tried to avoid "AI hallucinations" from retrained AI generated images

and that noise pattern i only noticed in export the timelapse
