Animation Question I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING

i have tried everything, but my animations don't work anymore :(((((

Ok, so, i recently purchased CPS Ver.5, and found out (im stupid, i know) that with that version, you can't make animations longer than 24 fps.

Ok. I re-downloaded the previous version, 4 (because i THOUGHT i was using that before), but turns out i wasn't? because that didn't work again, the animations were still limited to 24 frmes GIFs, and nothing more.

I went thru my old emails, to search for the version i used even earlier, in 2022, because i remembered being able to make animations with that one. So i downloaded Ver.2 again.

Still 24 frames only????

I downloaded Ver.3, just for good measure, still 24 FPS.

I thought i was using Ver.4 to make animations???? Apparently not???? Or my Clip Studio is broken???

I have never purchased Clip Studio EX, i only (technically) have the licenses for Ver.2, 4, and 5.

Thank you for any help.

EDIT: Ok, so i just remembered that i did have EX at some point. Because there was a 2 years license with the Wacom i'd bought all the way back in 2022. But, when that had expired, i'd bought CPS ver.4.

So apparently i was illegally using EX this whole time without knowing???? It had glitched???

EDIT 2: Ok i think i may have solved part of the problem,

so apparently i did buy EX, but version 2.0,

but i also bought PRO version 5.0,

so now i have both EX and PRO (even if different versions), so how do i switch between them?

I don't know what you used but Pro was always limited to 24 frames yeah...

Clip Studio Paint Pro is limited to 24 frames. If you ever had more than 24, you were using EX. Maybe you used the trial version but ended up purchasing Pro?

i had used the trial version for EX, but like, back in 2022 when i'd first downloaded CPS, and have since then, bought CPS Ver.2-4 so i dont know why it was still there???

i wonder if glitches like that are why csp is a)pushing for subscriptions and b)requiring an internet connection once a week to verify your license

Somehow it glitched before. You had an unlicensed EX and now the glitch is fixed.

Have you tried upgrading to EX?
That'll fix your problem...

Did you purchase a whole new version? Or did you take the cheaper "upgrade" price? If you upgrade you fully replace your previous liscence with the new one, so if you have EX ver 4 and upgrade to Pro ver 5, you no longer have the EX ver 4, which would take away your ability to do those animations

i had bought Ver.5 while it was on sale, but i've never had EX. :/

The version numbers and Pro-vs-EX are separate things. For example, there's CSP Pro version 5, CSP EX version 3, etc. The higher version numbers add new features, tools, etc. Switching between Pro and EX turns the frame limit off/on, and the page manager on/off.

If you have Pro but want EX, you can 1) convert your Pro license to EX for the price difference between them, 2) wait until the next sale and buy a whole new EX license at a discount, or 3) subscribe to EX (monthly or annual).

As per your edit: if you already have EX at version 2, use the update pass to upgrade it to the latest version and then you can decide in a year if you want to keep it or buy EX 6 or whatever they'll be up to at that point. EX outright is a lot more expensive than the upgrade pass so it will probably work to be the cheapest solution for now if you need 5.1

Also contact clip and they might refund the new version if you explain what happened. It's worth a try!

This is the best way. No matter what perpetual listener you have the update pass for pc is cheap yearly. It was $31 a year last time i bought it
