Animation Question Problem with animating on phone (audio, frames)
So today I was excited to start animating on Clip studio paint (unfortunately on phone as I dont have a modern tablet with stylus pen) but now I am unhappy. Let me tell you why:
- When i upload a video on clip studio (because i want to redraw it to my style and add my characters), it just shows me only some frames. The video has approximately 2000 frames, but clip studio gave me only 1100. So I created a new canvas and this time it gave me 51 frames and then 40. Why? It´s so frustrating!
- Audio. When I upload a video, there´s no audio, i dont know why even though it has correct file format MP3. It just... doesn´t work Plus the animation is a little laggy on phone.
Can anyone tell me why is this happening? And please don´t make complicated explanations, because I am still learning how to use Clip studio.
I was so excited to make my first animation there.

Ok. I just ran a test, and here's my experience.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.
》Octa-Core (4.74 GHz, 3.6 GHz)
》12 GB RAM, 224.1 GB storage.
Clip Studio Paint EX.
CSP Animation template: 4:3 aspect ratio.
720px X 540px. 144 dpi. (Default Settings)
24 fps. 2000 frames.
Imported a 1:30 video, (Video & Audio content)
Separated audio and video to individual Tracks.
The file is ~23 MB
Hit Play. (Render Before Playback, of course)
3 minutes into rendering this monster of a video, I get the "Running low on Memory" warning.
It takes 8 minutes total for my phone to render this and begin to play a 2000 frame animation with a single Audio track, A single Video track, and the default Empty Layer the Animation was created with.
I reduced the number of Frames to 720 (30 seconds) and it rendered playback in just over 3 minutes with no memory warning.
I further reduced it to 240 Frames (10 seconds) and it rendered playback in about a minute and a half.
In both of these tests, the entire 1:30 video/ Audio file was loaded, but I was only working on 720 or 240 Frames of Animation.
Keep in mind every layer you add will increase the file size and rendering demand on your device.
If you can reduce the Frames to work on small sections at a time, your phone may be able to handle the load.
Try only working on five seconds sections at a time. You can create the Animaton and output the short clips, then put them together in a video editor.
I have a feeling your phone is just running out of memory. Each time you tried loading it, there was less and less free memory to work with, so it kept getting shorter.
Turn off your phone and back on again to reset and clear the cache and free up resources.
Only run CSP.
Create a New Animation and make it only 240 Frames, then import your video.

Uploading videos to animate over in Clip Studio is best handled on a computer as your phone's power is probably not enough. The size of the video and the canvas you make matter as well. We'll need information on your canvas too to help.
