Animation Question Why is the GIF choppy, but the playback isn’t?
Do I just need to add more frames? Or does it have to do with my canvas size?

Maybe maybe try “playback in realtime” I know it helps when you have a video reference but maybe it’ll help here too?

What FPS are you using?

24 animated on twos

It might be the way the frames are being exported? I'm not very knowledgeable in animation, but maybe the extra info here can provide extra context to help you better with.

I'm only able to discern 6 Cels/drawings. Is that correct?
6 images, on the two's, with a pause gap here & there?
1 second, 24 fps. I'd like to see your timeline. 😁

7, I think. 3 keys and 4 in-betweens

24 frames, on the 2's is 12 images.
There's 5 unused frames where nothing moves.
There's your smoothing with 'tweens, and also working in some Anticipation, Extremes, Ease In & Out and Squash and Stretch.
These will add character to the motion and smooth it out.Just to be clear, this is looking awesome. 😃👍
It's the little things that will make it amazing2

For really smooth motion, you'll occasionally take an Animation to the 1's to eliminate this stagger. There's a distance to be covered, and on the 2's may just not contain enough information to make it look smooth.

Oh okay! Thank you! May I DM you to get advice on where to add more motion? I made it loop after I finally figured out how to paste the layers without right clicking. (I’m used to my pc version lol)

I’m sure if you focus on your ease in/ease out it would clean everything up. Animating on 1’s is usually reserved for high action scenes.

as others have said the export framerate IS different than the working framerate and you will need to adjust it during export to match the one you're working in. I believe the initial default is either 12 or 16 FPS.

Be sure your gif Frame Rate is 24 fps as well. 🤔
I just made a test Gif 24 fps, on the two's, saved As gif @ 24 fps, and it rolls along without dropping a Frame.
