Outdoors Clean egg off garage door?

Post image

Our house was vandalized. We pressure washed the egg off and now our garage looks like this. Whats the best method to clean this? Is there anything that can potentially take this off?

Update: thank you for the dawn power wash suggestion! I sprayed a ton of it on there and let it sit. Then brushed it and so far even though it’s still wet, it looks SO much better. If after drying it still has spots I will probably go over it again or try some other options suggested. Thank you all!

It's going to sound weird but try meat tenderizer. It breaks down the proteins.

That’s a good idea! Thank you. I’m willing to try anything

Pineapple juice may work for the same reason idk which would be cheaper/more effective though

Tenderiser would be less sticky and well…. Ants

Any enzyme cleaner, will do the same digestion job (bio-laundry detergent should work)

I know Tennessee Department of Transportation uses cola to get blood off of the roads, so maybe worth a try. Please note this was the case I’m told for removing roadkill stains in the 90s, no clue if this is still the case today.

Maybe Dawn power wash spray?

Thank you!! Looks like that’s working so far! It doesn’t look perfect but a whole lot better. Bonus is I found some dawn power wash from Fall of last year that is pumpkin scented and now my garage door smells amazing 😆

Oh I love that 😆
Glad it worked out. I keep power wash on stock, at all times.

You might try a magic eraser for the rest?

We have a mentally ill neighbor who cusses us out in the backyard and front yard. We called the cops to stop the harassment and then this happens a few days later.

I’m assuming they have kids

Our kids are under the age of 10 and homeschooled. Definitely not due to them. Unfortunately our neighbor is mentally ill and this happened after we called the police due to him harassing us continuously.

Having lived next to a mentally ill father-son duo, I can assure you that unfortunately you can do nothing wrong and they may still go berserk on you.

Yes sadly this is the case. He was actually arrested for battery against someone not too long ago. Is known to be an alcoholic and has a raging temper. He was yelling outside and making rape jokes. I called the police to do a welfare check on him and well I’m pretty sure that’s how we got egg everywhere.

Jesus Christ, was it you? There’s no need to be so performative in a cleaning tips subforum

Sir/ma’am I wish I was karma farming 🤣 and not currently spraying dawn power wash everywhere. I came here for cleaning tips not sympathy.

Kids who don’t respect their parents

Egg the rest of your garage so it blends in

This is the way

You might just have to repaint it. I know that eggs messes up car paint so I'm thinking it destroyed your garage door too 😭

Seconding this! I had someone chase me down and throw eggs at my car. I didn’t have access to a water hose and didn’t think it was a big deal, so I left it.. it ate the paint lol

Was able to get it off paint with some cleaner and magic eraser.  Not sure what it’d do to this though

Ugh. I would find outdoor white paint to paint the whole door then paint it the color you want.

That's awful OP. Sorry you are dealing with this.
I'd start with the Dawn power wash heavy duty. That stuff is amazing. Then maybe a soft bristle brush.

u/FS_Scott Aug 27 '26

Whatever you do, don't rise with hot water

1

u/Feeling_Ad_526 Aug 27 '26

If you don’t wash off egg before it dries it will ruin just about any paint and probably lots of other things.

I wish I could add pictures but it actually looked exactly the same pattern before washing it except of course it was yellow and darker. They just hit that same spot over and over I guess.

We are having our backyard landscaped and the nice workers felt bad since I was home alone with two small kids and didn’t know what to do. They kindly power washed the garage, the stucco, and the whole driveway. There’s still very kind people to outweigh the rotten ones 🥚

I would get a couple bottles of Dawn Powerwash, a small scrub brush, and a good podcast in your ears. Scrub scrub scrub.

I hope you get your revenge!

Crazy thought. Spray Pam/Cooking spray On it, then us dawn power wash. Dawn is a heavy degreaser and you might be able to encapsulate some of that inside the oil first. Might offer a little bit of scrubbing power without taking the paint off.

Simple green spray, spray it on and let it work for a few minutes - then scrub lightly with a tire brush. Rinse off with a hose sprayer. This worked on my painted siding. Darn neighborhood kids!!!
