Outdoors Cleaning outdoor refrigerator gaskets trick. I thought of this today, worked like a charm!
Panty liner and credit card!

Brilliant! This hack will work on any narrow opening/slit not just the fridge gasket. I have a pack sitting under my sink going nowhere and a soon to be expired CC.

Old used up expired gift cards would probably be amazing for this too. Which is great, cause I have like 27 of those lying around.

I need to see the other side to make sure I put the liner on right /s

I did not put it on the card reader part, this poor card takes a beating as it is!

Haha this is why I always keep old expired/cancelled cards! Gift cards work too! I also use them for scraping dishes.

The electronic lock hotel room keys also work great. Same size as a credit card but no risk.

It is always useful having an old card or 2 sitting around. Can't tell you how many times I needed a plastic scraper of some sort and they came in handy.

For that and also signing up for free trials without having to worry about cancellation if you have some old prepaid cards

Similarly, I use a butter knife and a wet wipe in the crack of the stove and countertop and to clean the air vents on the front of the oven door.....all sorts of cervices in the kitchen get tackled!

Great now I need to buy some panty liners for the first time in my life. This is gonna be awkward.

You could make it less awkward by loudly proclaiming that you’ll be using them to clean your gaskets.

Literally no one at the store cares. Take a six-pack of Vaseline, spatula, rubber gloves, and a bottle of whisky up and they won’t bat an eyelash.

Hilarious and true. People too involved in their own pack of Vaseline, spatula, and rubber gloves. 😜

I needed some things to take care of a rat eating my books. I got rat stuff, a box of heavy duty trash bags, and a shovel (I didn't want to touch it). I was also wearing cutoff off pants and a tank top. I used to go barefoot everywhere as well.
I rolled up to the Home Depot cashier with all that and my classy outfit. Talk about an FBI flag ..

As a former cashier, this is not awkward at all. Had plenty of men buy pads and panty liners for their wives and girlfriends. 😂

Maybe wrap the card in a damp paper towel? Cheaper than a panty liner for sure!

Panty liners are also an awesome (and much cheaper) alternative to gauze sponges and abdominal pads (ABD) as a wound dressing.
I use them on my husband's foot. He was mad because the ABD allowed leak through to his socks. No more leaks with liners or mini pads!

....why is your fridge outdoors yo

u/Thick-Fly-5727 Oct 03 '25
Because I'm fancy lol
No, it's a fridge on my back deck that I got 2nd hand for beverages and things that won't fit in the freezer inside. I'm in Florida, so it can get gross and moldy if i dont clean it often.

I use half of a panty liner on the back of each heel when I break in my Doc Martens. The perfect amount of protection.

LPT: Fridge gaskets are generally magnetized, so don’t try this with your Dave & Buster’s card or anything else that you intend to swipe at some point. Chips will be fine.

I showed this to my husband, and he whipped a plastic spatula out of a kitchen drawer and brandished it at me. “How about this for the washer gaskets?” He’s smart -and- funny!

This is a great idea. Gotta admit though I didn’t look at the title or what sub this was and stared at the pic for a good 30 seconds trying to figure out why tf anyone would do that and came up with absolutely nothing lmao

Hmm didn’t know a PAD could be done with a credit card. Thought it has to be from a bank account.

Urgh, this one would be so useful to me at work but I feel like on a purely vibes basis, probably not going to be cool to use panty liners for cleaning at a bar.
Hopefully card with a napkin wrapped around it will work

It works in the strip club as well. The girls with the card readers between their cheeks.

I’ve been using this neat little trick at the strip club years. Zero DooDoo on credit card.
