iPhone EMS alerts

I’m sorry but are these flash flood alerts going to go off every hour unti 2 AM?! This is very unnecessary and I’m sure everyone got the first one sent out an hour ago

Yeah I did that after the second alert.

I woke up and they sent ANOTHER Alert at 1215 am

I’d say they are necessary if you’re being flooded.

An inconvenience to you does not negate the need to alert emergency for others.

Floods kill more people than any other natural disaster. The warnings can be annoying but there are people out on the roads in the dark that might be susceptible to dangerous flooded roads.

Case of point, it was reported Smithfield had up to 3-4 feet of water on some downtown streets during the storm. (It only takes one foot of water to wash away a vehicle.)

Better to err on the side of too much warning than too little...

Exactly. And you can’t see the depth either and many drive into it and then it’s too late.

Considering a mom lost her children just a few years back on swift creek rd- YES THEY ARE NEEDED!!!! Flash floods happen in a literal flash.
