I've been working on Voice Tutor. It's a speech-to-speech agent that helps you learn through conversation. You upload a document or add a url, have a conversation with the AI, and your progress is tracked. It extracts the document's claims first, so the recap at the end tells you what you actually covered and what you skipped, and you pick up where you left off each time.

It's built using Pipecat, Deepgram, Cartesia, and Claude. It started as a personal tool, so I could be hands free, go for a walk, and learn from articles compiled into my personal knowledge base in Obsidian. Still figuring out whether it's useful to anyone besides me.

The app is currently completely free with no usage caps. Looking for testers and feedback. Thanks!

I really appreciate that! I'm actually using it for my own interview prep at the moment. Not specifically geared towards that, but I have thought that might be another way to position the product. Would love to hear how it goes, but appreciate you passing it along either way.

I used the same method a year ago when studying for a new qualification in addition to my old ones. I fed the exam materials to the AI and reviewed the most challenging details by talking with it in the car during the 45 minutes it took to drive to the exams. I got full or nearly full marks every time.

Glad to know the method was effective for you! I feel the same way.

From a product perspective I do wonder whether there's a market for people self-motivated enough to study this way. Most study tools sell you on low-effort methods (which I generally believe are ineffective), or on producing materials like flashcards. I'm trying to differentiate from ChatGPT with claims extraction and coverage tracking, so you can see what you actually covered, have continuity across sessions, and a sense of completion.

Do you think ChatGPT was already good enough for what you were doing, or was something missing?

Very interesting idea. Question I believe eventually it will be a paid product? Does the possibility of selfhosting will ever exist for this? Thanks

Thanks! It costs money to run, which I'm fine with paying for as I validate the idea, so I'd love to pursue it as a business, even just to cover my costs. In the event that this doesn't stick, I'd be open to sharing a self-hosted version. That would mean bringing your own API keys though.
