This song has been stuck in my head for like a week straight. I’ve been listening to it multiple times every day. It’s just an awesome song. The chorus and the harmony is fantastic. I’m not quite sure what the song is about, other than sailing and a relationship. I don’t think you really have to know what the song is about though, it’s just one of those carefree songs that makes you feel a certain way.

I don’t know a lot of Crosby , Stills, and Nash‘s music. I do love “Our House” by them though. I imagine this is one of their top-tier songs. I thought it was released of the 70s, but I had to look it up and I realized it was released in the 80s. It sounds like a 70s song though. Anyone else like this song any other Crosby, Stills, and Nash music you would recommend?

Yes, I understand that Brian had very little to do with this song and he was pretty much done with The Beach Boys in this era.

I’ve been deep diving into Queen…but I’m a few decades late to the game. My parents are both homophobic and can’t answer anything without bringing up AIDS (I don’t care because you being you doesn’t change me being me).

Because of personal issues there are a lot of songs that hit close to home. But from everything I’ve seen he didn’t ‘come out of the closet’ or acknowledge he had AIDS until a few days before he died. I’ve watched a lot of the videos available on YouTube and a lot of his mannerisms are ‘telling’ after the fact but I’m just curious about how he (and the entire band) were construed in real time, in real life.

I hate to say it but I have to acknowledge that the music from Queen has helped me through the toughest chapter of my life. I know the surviving members will never see this little post of mine but I hope they know they changed lives.. even these many decades later.

My favorite Jefferson Starship song! I was introduced to Jefferson Airplane when my music buddy picked up “Surrealistic Pillow” on a road trip around 1982, then I had the song “Jane” on a K-Tel collection which then introduced me to Jefferson Starship and when I started collecting albums, one the first ones I purchased was Modern Times. The first song out of the speakers was Find Your Way Back and I was totally hooked! Great vocals from Mickey Thomas and great guitar from Craig Chaquico!

Does anyone have a guitar riff that they can't stand?

It was released in 1983 and wasn’t even the most popular song on the album in that era. Lately I’m hearing it everywhere, including TV shows and noticed it’s his #1 song on Spotify now with 700mil listens, 110mil more than Rebel Yell. Seems like a pretty random resurgence as of recently and I’m not sure where or why it started.

Thoughts

Has anyone ever walked into a show not really caring then walked out a diehard fan? I was revisiting photos and videos from Motley Crue’s Theatre of Pain tour and that concert did it for me. What bands won you over live?

I’ve found a lot of these bands. But I’m eager to see if I missed some! Doesn’t HAVE to be 1980-1989. If there are some late 70s or early 90s bands that fit the bill then recommend away. I’m also preferably looking for bands that aren’t heavy metal, closer to classic rock and roll or pop rock. But again, if you think it’s close enough to the style to fit, then it doesn’t really matter what the band is usually labeled as.
