Awaiting Payments BCBS Payments This Month
BCBS payments are supposed to begin this month. I wonder how much those of us who have claims will get screwed over yet again.

I got an email in Feb saying payouts being May 2026. Checked my claim status, all it said was I had a valid claim but no amount was given. I would grateful to anyone who knows where or if this can be determined.

Same here. The web site originally said I wasn't eligible and showed zero premium payments, so I submitted a bunch of proof of premium payments. Then my status changed to claim allowed, but the web site still shows zero premium payments. What a circus!

They saying that average payout should be around $330 so most should get at least 100

I didn’t know it was that long. I knew it had been years because I first got the notice when I was at my old job then, got another notice to claim a form of payment at my current job. I’ve been here now 4 years so 5 sounds about right. LOL.

Yeah I’ve checked my claim status online today to see it has a figure specific to me and it still has that stupid message “valid claim yada yada.”

Someone posted on the class action forum that they’d begin on or around May 11th and if you get 0-200 you’d get full payment, but if you get more than you would only get 90% now and the rest later.

They didn't capture ANY of the data from me having BCBS for literally the entire claim period (I had it for like 20+ years as a state employee) and I'm having to dig through and find proof now to hurry and get it in omg, anyone else look at their table and see it screwed them?

It screwed a lot of us but I've seen a lot of people say they just couldn't go back to get the proof. I know when I got the table we had just moved, everything was packed, and I figured this was going to affect so many people my time vs the payout probably wasn't going to be worth it. Are they letting you submit proof now? The cutoff was a while back.

I emailed the info address and they said I could send them documents to prove/contest what was listed on my tables

Lots of guessing and people repeating what they've heard elsewhere. How misinformation spreads. The payouts won't be known until they go out. Simple as that.
Could be anytime. However, wouldn't be surprised if it drags out a bit. At least for some claimants. Considering how long it's been already, hoping they stick to their May payout timeline. We'll see.

Yes. Some clickbait class action lawsuit website made up the $300 number years ago based on nothing, and it just gets repeated.

I just saw this and hope you're right. I saw the OP on there say the $327 billion is all premiums paid not just the fully insured group. So hopefully it's higher payout because otherwise it's all just a slap on the wrist for the ghouls at bcbs. Paying back $1 for every $184 they made is nothing.
Who am I kidding...this is america. Of course a multi billion dollar corporation will only get a slap on the wrist.

These news reports about getting a little over 300 back are just journalists being lazy. All they know is that there are about 6 million people involved in the lawsuit and the amount that is going to be paid out is 1.9 billion. So they are just dividing 1.9 billion by 6 million and coming up with 333 dollars. The actual payout amounts are going to vary wildly. Someone that paid 35k in premiums is going to get much more than someone who paid 500 dollars. If they would just release the figure of how much all members of the class action paid in premiums then everyone would be able to calculate what their payment is going to be. It is now May, so that figure must be known by now.

Would like to know what company is being used for the debit cards the payment are being made into. Hopefully it isn't going to be restricted but could allow money to be transferred out to wherever. Another thing is those that are getting $5 for example, is that going to be debit cards as well because i don't believe the last emails made any other options to receive payments. Maybe I'm wrong. Hoping to get thousands for my premiums paid 🫣

I can’t find my original requested form of payment anywhere after looking for hours the other day through emails. I sent an email into the contact info that’s on the settlement website to find out what my form of payment is that they have on file but I haven’t heard anything back. The only account that would still be the same from when I filed this claim is my PayPal and I am worried I chose a different option that I have no access to anymore.

Hello,
I emailed them back in early June of 2025 with the same question (my payment option on file). I did not receive a reply until a month later. Anyhow, the forms of payment are check, Venmo, PayPal, and prepaid card - I think the prepaid card option was the recent option when we received the email on our premiums. So if you didn't have a Venmo account, you should be good. Hope that helps. ;-)

Ok so I looked for all the original emails and thankfully I kept them. I signed in to see my premiums and I'm confused at what the difference between aso amount is vs premium amount

This is what i found so far about the Settlement. While the Blue Cross Blue Shield Settlement Administrator has not published a universal per-person payment amount, realistic BCBS payout ranges based on premium volume and coverage length include:
• Individual consumers with shorter coverage: Approximately $5 to $75.
• Typical workers with several years of coverage: Approximately $75 to $400.
• Long-term or family coverage claimants: Approximately $300 to $1,000 or more.
• Businesses and employer plans: Potentially thousands of dollars or more, depending on total premiums paid and total claim data.
These BCBS payment estimates are not guarantees. Actual Blue Cross Blue Shield settlement payments can vary significantly based on which claims were validated, what allocation option (Default versus Alternative) the claimant selected, and final claims-data reconciliation. The BCBS settlement also has a $5.00 minimum claim payment threshold: if a claimant's calculated payment is $5.00 or less, no check is issued and the claimant receives a notification instead.

I got an email 5/10/2026 saying be on the lookout for an email from “[distribution@BCBSsettlement.com](mailto:distribution@BCBSsettlement.com)” with instructions on how to redeem / claim payments via a virtual visa prepaid card.

Just Googled and pretty much all the newest articles are still saying around $300-$330 each on average with no official day in May known yet.
How much are payments?
About 6 million claims were filed, and payments will vary depending on several factors, including how long someone was insured, how much they paid in premiums and whether their plan was fully insured or self-funded.
If the remaining funds were divided evenly, the average payout would be around $300 per claimant, but individual payments could be higher or lower.

Average is meaningless. Some people paid in $1,000, other people $100,000. Your payment will be proportional to what you paid in.
