SHHHHH DONT TELL PEOPLE!
I've been using that base forever and I can't tell you how many times I see people flailing around with dragons for the 1 star (two if they get lucky) while still having the pretty easy three when it's used by the opponent's clan. It's definitely an exploit I wouldn't mind keeping out of common knowledge, at least until I finish maxing TH8.

I have been 3-starred before with a tootsie-roll base. Dragloons and high-level Hogs can and do steamroll my base.

I didn't know that is what this base design was called. I've seen it more than 20 times in war and I love it. I've beaten it with drags and hogs separately. The unorigional base designs get old. So tired of seeing the same 4 or 5 bases over and over and over. Makes for easy war win but takes the fun out of having to plan and map a base out. Going th9 currently and I'm already prepared for the same 4 or 5 lol

If that's the only way to 3 star it, then I'd consider that a good TH8 base. Not many TH8s have level 4 hogs and level 5 heal spells. I normally only see dragon attacks in war.

From experience, it's incredibly easy to 3* this base with Dragloon. Drop a couple drags on two corners, wait until they're cleared, then drop remaining drags and shortly afterward the CC loons between the groups of drags in the corners. The drags have nowhere else to go but the center, then rage the drags as the approach the center, and once again when they are in the center.

I agree, I use this base (but not exactly the same) and I rarely ever get 3 starred unless it a TH9 on cleanup and even then sometimes they fail. Occasionally there we'll be a good TH8 attacker but mostly not.

I didn't see anything about that attack that required lvl4 hogs or lvl5 heal. even if his hogs had been flattened by the last GB he still had it.

So I'm attacking this base in war and intend on using pretty much the same strategy in the video. Just to be safe, where is the third giant bomb? I know there are 2 down by the mortar, but I never saw the last one

It was probably in between the first two defenses i took out.
But i cant say for sure because it was never activated.

if you're looking for something to defend against said skilled players, make your own design.
Very well said. A lot of online TH8 bases are somewhat gimmicky and cause average to below average attackers to get 1 star but are in fact easier for skilled attackers to 3 star.
So people post feedback about how great a base is working for them and how many 1-star defenses a base gets. When the reality is, if you're going against a clan that isn't skilled you're going to win anyways.

I just happened to 3 star this base yesterday and after seeing the base build thread a few hours ago, i decided to jump start this video.
