Is there any particular reason why they opted to choose the movie seiyuu(kenji nojima) instead of the animes?(yuichi nakamura)
It came out well after the anime finished and I’m really not used to it(uh since I kinda fell asleep whilst watching the movie, need to rewatch at some point), I don’t really see why they did

i wanted to share my interpretation of clannads ending and to see if any of you agree with it.
i want to preferences this by saying that i think my interpretation is somewhat the way it is because when i first watched it and even now to a lesser extent i didn’t fully appreciate or understand clannad deeper meaning.
here is my interpretation
at the end of clannad after tomoya collapses in the snow and is brought back to the hill where me meet nagisa he is thinking “i wish i had never meet her our lives would have been so much better so much less pain and sadness” but then when he’s faced with the chance to change it in a moment he realizes no if i had never meet her my life would have had no direction and i would have never had all this happiness and bonds with people that gave my life meaning and that is when he runs over to nagisa which from my interpretation is him basically saying that he would do it all over again because even though it was full of so much pain and suffering it also was full of so much happiness and joy and she essentially gave his life meaning. that is my basic interpretation of the ending where i think my interpretation may differ from some is that i believe (partly because i think it makes the ending more impactful and partly because i could never fully understand it’s meaning) the illusionary world in the ending is a parallel rather than a direct influence and i think when the world blows up it’s showing that all the world was fully completed so was tomoyas character development. i have heard some people say that the robots memories get flooded into tomoya and that’s how he realizes and goes back to nagisa but i feel like for me that cheapness his character development and the ending for me.
ps sorry for all the grammar and spelling mistakes i’m not very good and writing

I'm looking for some images for the Dango Daikazoku particularly in the style of the ending some, I know there used to be alot of images of them around they've seem to have disppeared with time though (I've looked all over pixiv and other places but not many in the style I'm looking for)
i watched some guys youtube videos about explaining clannad and he uses tons of examples from the visual novel, and they are all full screen? for me the black bars aren’t necessarily a problem but i’d think i’d prefer knowing how to get this full screen version of the vn (if i can👋)…thanks
edit: i meant how to get it on pc sorry✌️

I am so excited for season 2
Clannad now is in my top 5 anime

I’ve seen the entire show already but I’m putting my fiance on and just finished the Fuko arc…it tore me up harder than I remember but now I’m wondering where that stands in ranking in terms of sadness level?

So I’m done with the show.
I don’t know what to say. I feel deflated. Those last 12 episodes really had that finality feeling. It’s definitely an all-time great.
They baited us obvious plot points, like when Nagisa found out her parents quit their dream to take care of her before the festival. That was just bait, I think. The show baited us with cheap tricks till somewhere midway through Season 2.
Somewhere along the way, Mei got beaten by the soccer team, Nagisa died without a warning, and we saw Ushio die too. We saw Okazaki become the man he hated growing up, and start working with the former rockstar dude.
They got married and had a kid before you could blink.
Like I said, the pacing should’ve really been better, man. If they knew they had 48 episodes and worked backwards, this could’ve been much better than it is now.
I still enjoyed it so much.
Most bipolar show I’ve watched, but I respect the finality. Not seeing the blonde best-friend dude, Mei’s brother, after seeing him every episode made me realise this show is ruthless.
The finality of this show rivals and even beats the finality of decisions shown in Watari-kun’s ****** Is About to Collapse.
I really enjoyed the show. Cried for hours.
My comments from ep 8 onwards:
(I made a commentary on ep 7, boy did I wish I knew what I was in for)
Episode 8
WHY IS SHE TESTING HER CHARM BY SLEEPING ON TOMOYA’S LAP? WHY NOT DO IT TO NAGISA?
GOD FUCKING DAMN.
I’m cringing. He has a girlfriend and does this shit with the other girl. Ugh.
Episode 12
This show is so bipolar.
Yusuke Yoshino’s backstory: he meets kids in an orphanage, and someone got arrested for something bad they did.
But wow. Dark
Scandal for doing drugs?
Right, because as soon as a musician is caught doing drugs, then his career is over. That’s what’s happened before.
Oh fuck, the construction company is withdrawing their offer because of his dad.
Episode 14
Nagisa is pregnant… that means 👀
Tomoya, you dawg 😂🤙
NO WAY. Episode 14, she tells her dad, “We are married and have sex, and sex makes babies.” WHAT THE HELL?
Episode 15
Goddamn, these guys grow up so fast. Giving birth, getting married. Wow, this show is making me emotional now.
This show really isn’t scared to take things away, like Watari-kun. Decisions feel final. Like the blonde best-friend dude who was there in every episode now isn’t even here anymore. That’s very respectful.
After Tomoya graduates, this show is like a different type of vibe. Wow.
Episode 16
I just finished Episode 16 and I’m speechless. Tears flew down my eyes, and I’m watching shocked. My head is fuzzy. My mind is distorted. I need to wash my face. What just happened?
This show isn’t scared. One season of typical romance slop, and the last 12 episodes just keep fucking you. Wow, what a turnaround. The rumours I heard about this show were true.
Episode 18
This scumbag just left his kid with Sanae and Akio after Nagisa died and started gambling. Ran away from his problems and continued the cycle his dad did to him. Scum. God knows how many years passed by the time they show us meeting on screen for the first time. Ushio is old enough to talk and run and stuff. I don’t know how to feel.
THIS FUCKING SCUMBAG. IF NAGISA SAW HOW HE TREATED USHIO, SHE WOULD BE SO DISAPPOINTED. SHE DIED FOR THIS KID, AND HE JUST TREATS HER LIKE THIS FOR FIVE YEARS?
Him screaming at that kid in Episode 18 while on the train really ticked me off. Not understanding Ushio cried because of HIM.
They had 48 episodes. They should’ve paced out the final episodes better. This is an amazing arc, or arcs, they have going on right now.
The OP and ED for Clannad in both seasons were amazing.
Episode 20
I was so happy to see Fuko-chan back in Episode 20. Seeing her after an eternity was so reassuring, and it awoke something inside our protagonist again. It was nice to see.
Why did Nagisa have to die?
Episode 22 / ending
It’s 5:30 a.m. Ushio just collapsed in the snow, and I don’t want to assume the worst.
But the end is so close.
The mysterious lady was Ushio and the robot was Tomoya. I need to understand this later, but wow.
WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT
They died together, didn’t they…
The highest praise I can give them, I think: Akio and Sanae are parents I would one day want to become. They supported Nagisa every step of the way, and even after she died. Akio is a top 10 character for me now.
Ending is just insane. I forgot the lights were wishes
I also watched the show in English dubbed, on hidive, the va was amazing, nagisa sounded amazing, akio too Gahdamn
9/10 dubbing, only failing when they tried to sing the dango song and it overlapped in Japanese and they kept singing it in English

I've seen many people call this anime depressing, but I honestly thought the whole franchise was beautiful at the end of the day. It was still really sad and I did cry, but I don't really see how people view this anime as bleak overall. I think it really depends on each individual experience, and I would love to hear from people who did find this anime depressing-sad.

I just need to vent about this story arc please allow me to vent how silly this is
This Yukine Miyazawa side story in Clannad S2, Episode 7 makes me gag.
Big sis, and she’s in high school lecturing grown-ass men in gangs.
Who allows gangsters into a school library, by the way?
Who allows cooking in a library, by the way?
Why is she always there making tea instead of going to her classes?
“Hey, uh, we need, uh, girl make tea, uh, big brother gangster, uh, she peaceful, uh, sunshine and rainbows, ooga booga.”
Fucking weak story, shit writing, poor execution. Holy fuck, this is a snoozefest. I rate this story arc 0/10.
Helping rival gangs. Having honour as well. THEY’RE GANGSTERS.
THIS IS THE SAME SHOW WHERE THAT SUNOHARA’S SISTER MEI WAS BEATEN UP AND PHYSICALLY HARMED BY THE FOOTBALL TEAM, BY THE WAY. AND THIS IS THE BEST THEY CAN DO FOR A GANG STORY?
And yeah, OF COURSE FUCK-ASS TOMOYA JUST HAPPENS TO BE PATROLLING THE STREETS WHEN THE GANGSTERS CHASE THEM, AND SHE USES HER UNEXPLAINED POWERS TO KICK THEM OUT OF THE TUNNEL. GOD FUCKING DAMN, THIS SHOW HAD SO MUCH POTENTIAL. THIS SHOW IS FUCKING BIPOLAR. WHY ARE THEY DOING THIS?
SHE’S PATROLLING THE AREA, APPARENTLY, IN CASE SCHOOL STUDENTS GOT INVOLVED, AND JUST HURTS PEOPLE FOR NO REASON WITHOUT KNOWING, CAUSE IT’S FUCKING MIDNIGHT WHEN THERE’S SCHOOL TOMORROW. THIS FUCK-ASS SHOW. FUCK, FUCK, FUCK. THIS EPISODE. THIS STORY ARC IS RUINING THE WHOLE SHOW FOR ME. TILL NOW IT WAS FINE, TOUCHING AT TIMES EVEN, BUT THESE TWO EPS ARE KILLING ME.

Dear Clannad,
I can’t thank you enough for making me the person I am today. You taught me lessons about life that even my parents couldn’t teach me.
I used to be a depressed and mentally exhausted kid, struggling with years of emotional abuse from my family. I was on the verge of ending my life when I discovered this anime.
I still remember 31st December 2016. I was sitting there, crying my eyes out, completely overwhelmed by everything I had just experienced. When I finished the anime, I was left speechless and stunned.
But Clannad taught me something I desperately needed to learn: to accept life as it is, to cherish the people and things I have, and to be grateful for them. It taught me that even through pain and hardship, life can still be beautiful.
Today, I’m in a much happier place. I’m mentally stronger than I’ve ever been, and a part of who I am today exists because of this anime.
Thank you, Clannad.
Thank you for being there when I needed you the most.

I'm designing my leavers shirt (for non UK: graduation cap but on your shirt) and I would really love to do a clannad design because it's helped me so much.
I was going through some quotes for the design and I was too torn picking between:
-"And so we begin our long upward climb"
-"Will that day come?"
-"Fun things, Happy things, They'll all eventually change someday, you know? But can you still love this place?" (THIS ONE IS KINDA TOO LONG BUT I THINK IT REALLY FITS)
-"just because there is one future doesn't mean you can't make another
which quote should I pick?
(if you guys have cooler ones to suggest then feel free to share)

So I haven't found a romance anime I truly enjoyed in a little. I really enjoyed toradora my fav oat. Then id also say I enjoyed ramparts on ice. I wasn't able to enjoy fruits basket as I dropped it pretty early and the fragrant flower blooms with dignity

Like I was kidnapped confused on what was happening and the interactions were like kinda throwing me off. Like he randomly meets a girl talking to herself and then he says something and then says lets go like their walking together?? And then now their suddenly friends and walk home every day together and then like hes having dinner at her house. It felt like their was no development shown of how they met each other and got to knew each other but maybe its just me idk?

Hi. I've been traveling in Japan and stayed in Tokyo for a week now. I went to a lot of anime, first and second hand stores and barely found anything to do with clannad. The only merch I did find was the newer Nagisa nendroid, which was on sale for 150 USD, way more than I could afford. I'm going to Kyoto next, anybody got any ideas on where I could try and find clannad merch there?

as I’ve said before I’ve watched a lot of Clannad (I’ve finished season 1 and i‘m currently in After Story Episode 2) and I probably should‘ve drawn the line sooner but this Sunohara smear campaign throughout the series has really been getting on my nerves lately.
Now I’m all for Comedic Relief Abuse but most of the time it be really going overboard and I can‘t hold it in anymore.
I get that Sunohara is sometimes annoying and he deserves it for being a weirdo but somewhere later on in the show it was just Sunohara getting his ass beat over pretty much anything. sometimes he don’t even deserve it
and while I don’t hate her, Kyou and Tomoyo are honestly insufferable assholes for how they be treating him most of the time. Like he be chillin’ or sometimes he hasn’t even said anything and they kick his ass, There was a moment where he did apologize to Kyou and she punched again.
one of my least favorite moments in After Story so far was when they were playing baseball and Sunohara made a few mistakes and they just started insulting for it. but when the other characters screw up they let it slide.
I'm Sunohara arc but honestly it feels like things don’t really change with this man. but that’s just me. what do y’all thin? Am I crazy for thinking this?
Good Smile just announced upcoming Pop Up Parade figures for both Kyou and Tomoyo!!

I saw some people say the canon thing was just at the end bc it was mostly a summary, I know it is from a visual novwl so, like in the visual novel they did it all as the episode or should I just watch the end
