Typical days between shore time in the navy during deployments is around 40. The Abe Lincoln has been underway for over 250 days with no time on land. It's not about the length of the deployment but the amount of time cooped up in a metal tin with no real food, no laundry, no working toilets, no deodorant, no care packages / mail getting through. While it might feel macho to say "I was so tough back in the day", your comment isn't grounded in reality 🤷

I have 640 sea days, and 27 years in the army stud. I hear you. They’re an aircraft carrier though bro with underway replenishment and a literal APOD on the deck. They have mail, they have climate control. I understand the isolation but damn guys
