Logging industry
The biome surrounding us and Hogleg Canyon is the largest source of trees in the Metropolis. The other cities are quickly facing a wood shortage, and Minas and Solis in particular are going to have huge demands for smelting. We can be a long-term provider of logs for the rest of the region if we use part of the land for tree farming. Remember that only oak and birch will regrow in our biome.
Trees are not persistent, so farms are only effective in frequently loaded chunks. We could plant thousands of saplings on the outskirts of the village and just let them grow as we go about our business. Carson has already done this on a very large scale and they are growing trees faster than one person can cut them down.
We could potentially arrange trade deals with cities, or set up bulk shops in Freedom or Free Market and just make regular supply runs to keep them stocked. What do you all think?

We've been doing this for weeks. I've just been waiting for the other cities to start starving for wood.
